i am tearing up just listening to the intro...i am such an axe-hurling, bow-shooting, sword-swinging woose. oh yeah, you tube...read the Bible, read Luke, then !st Peter, then James, then Acts, then Jude, then then then Genesis
What a great version. Thanks for posting it. Any chance you could post "Time" from How the West was One? I think Time was on there with Phil Keaggy and Michael Omartian doing some anazing instrumentals. Would love to hear that again...
@alyosha77 Actually Annie Herring Wrote this song, but it was also done by Keith Green. I googled it to be sure and credit is given to Annie for writing it. I love both versions though! I remember when I heard about Keith's plane crash and was devastated. I felt as many others did that I had lost my brother. As indeed we all did. I saw 2cnd Chapter of Acts in concert in Houston on their last tour before retiring. I remember being so blessed and getting to hug them. I miss them!
This was actually written by Keith Green, but I agree this is the best version. We got to see them perform this live in Ft. Wayne, IN at the Adam's Apple when they were the opening act for Barry McGwire (a long, long time ago).
We used this album to wake our kids every Easter morning for many, many years. Then we had no turntable. This year...this post will play. Joy to the world, He is risen! Alleluia!
wow, thanks for posting, and the link, i enjoyed reading bout the history . . . what a great song, i'd never heard the original till tonight (Good Friday), but been listning to the Kieth Green version the last year or so
@sonofahen I agree, but I already own the vinyl. (-; God Bless you and all who may hear this song.

All these songs were shared by the different Christian bands. I believe Annie did write this.

This song is still powerful and awesome...I wore out the album in the 70's....The CD with the original version still has the same impact.
