Ive always liked the bcb gear,we just dont have a store here in the states that sells it that I know of anyways ! Really like your reviews on this gear !
Wat I did is i bought the miltary kit then the mini mess tin by bcb which is used for ultimate kit so I had a bigger cooking tin n could add more check it out on my channle if interseted it's called survival/possibles pouch
as you guessed im not that remote, unfortunately england does not have much of the said remot wilderness, but i do with what im delt, if this means me enjoying what woods i have then so be it.
@a1993h I agree, the "panel" type setup is much easier for me to use. Ordered mine, waiting for the postal service to deliver it and start customizing. Look for a video. -Nax
Very useful review, thanks, but anyone purchasing these kits should be aware that it is now illegal to carry these pen knives in any public place, including any public wood, even in a tin, as they lock (the UK Law now states that you are only allowed a non locking blade of less than three inches.
i would carry a sharpening stone, or you could open it. it was only from experience that i say keep it sealed, i relied on that tin for a week long military survival course and i was in the water right at the beginning so anything that was not protected got soaked
Ok. Anyway that is BCB's mistake that the knife is not sharp -not yours. I think BCB shoud use sharp knife there or include a sharpening stone or do both.
Good review Mike. In the first kit, I think I would add a Ferro rod or waterproof matches, better knife, maybe some bandaids and a couple of tea packets.
Ye the first kit is designed so that it gives you the basics but allows sufficient room for other items, the items you chose to add are a great idea. thanks for your comments

you are completely right, it should be sharp when sold and a better quality knife could be used.

Super review Mike. BCB produces very nice survival kits. A saw and knife add a lot of value to any kit.
I would add ibuprofen and hydration salts/electrolytes. Pain or dehydration make a survival situation many times worse.
