Through watching this, I started to think that D'Souza was just dumb or incompetent...it's pretty clear he's just a plain liar. At :45 he says that Dawkins claimed that aliens brought life to earth. That's clearly not the case, he was using that as an example of what could have happened. I'd bet my life savings that Dawkins doesn't really believe this to be the case. Don't waste your time listening to this liar.
Dinesh hit the proverbial nail on the head (pardon the pun) by mentioning that our inward experiences are every bit (some would argue even moreso) valid than external experiences. Thoughts, feelings, emotions, ideas, creativity, on and on and on...these are, I would argue, much more validated experiences than spending all day in a biology lab. They're more vital; more near and dear...and certainly more valuable than an external stimulus. "We should all be agnostics" is an impotent argument.
I guess to it's fair to scrutinize D'Souza's arguments only. So far, Loftus hasn't made an argument that even comes close to cogent or rationale, hence there's nothing to scrutinize.
Dinesh either misunderstands or mischaracterizes the importance of God in the gaps. The point is that religion, and specifically the Judeo/Christian God originally served the purpose of answering questions such as "Where did we come from?' 'Where did the earth come from?' 'How do natural phenomena such as rainbows and earthquakes occur?' As science has answered all of these questions, the Chirstians continually redefine God, who no longer resembles God in Genesis. Thus they are inconsistent.
Um, no. He was actually quite on point regarding the God of the Gaps. Atheists indeed do view these discrepancies as annoying, and are quick to assure us that "science will fill them." This is blatant ignorance. If science has taught us anything, it's that the "laws" of science are continually rewritten...and that's a good thing! What a tragedy it would be if all the questions were answered, and creative thought would cease. God being the greatest mystery of all. =)
I find it so annoying to listen to dinesh... he is so skillful at making a load of BS sound coherent... he consistantly never gets the points made (or pretend to) and embarks on irrelevent straw man arguments embellished with a stream non sequiturs and false analogies...

Yes, but a thought exists inside the human mind - just like your god!

Dinesh didn't really explain the god of the gaps theory. He just said that some scientists don't use it.
