...People always talk about how Male Lions are lazy and that Lionesses do all the work, and yes this is true..but trust me..I grew up in Kenya and when it came to taking down a big Buffalo or a big Hippo the Male Lion would always be the one to deliver the killer blow, I also saw about 10 Hyenas harrassing 3 Lionesses but as soon as the Male Lion appeared all Hyenas disappeared, Male Lions do their bit when they need to.

Agreed. The male lion is fighting from day one - roughhousing with his peers, clawing for a place at the prey haunch, being routed by hyenas, driven off when he grows a mane. Without cousins or brothers the solitary wanderer must band with another male; then the violent takeover, defending his territory, killing hyenas. @hoyfanofboulder i know lions dont need numbers. But they are more successful with numbers. They need numbers to hunt as they herd there prey towards another pride member. If there was only 1 lion hunting they can hunt but might not always be successful. Specially in the dryer months. The more pride members the more chances the lions get to eat. The less numbers the more chance they will fail and die of starvation.

Tigers are the most gorgeous cat on earth, but as much as I favor the tiger I have to say that a lion, being a pride animal vs the solitary tiger, faces more aggression, territorial battles, fights over mates, fights to protect cubs, and fights over food (but the males are so lazy otherwise). The lion has no choice but to be more tenacious -- it is a matter of survival and more often than for the tiger. Lion has always had more at stake out in the open, and more to encounter.

a lot of this sort of stuff is done with long telephoto lenses ,,also technology nowadays has come a long way ,,
they have remote control fibreglass rocks,,turtles and even saw a elephant turd [lol ] they put a camera inside and slowly sneak up to the critters,
because it looks like nothin out of the ordinary ,the animals dont bother about them,,
