Like the Maxpedition gear, but the word "Tactical" is used waaaayy too much these days. If we made a drinking game out of it we'd all be dead of alcohol poisoning by the time this review ended.
That rear compartment is for an ultrabook, baby! A 13.3" - perfect - you REALLY need to tout this as a selling point, as everyone's going to be going to ultrabooks - looks like that will even fit an 14".
I think you should go back to the basics....like improve new tacical backpacks like the brad new condor 3, pygmy falcon 3, falcon 3 or work on the monsoon gearlinger...if they had thought of it.
Also, I like the Messenger bag (i.e. Murse). I currently use the Maxpedition Jumbo Versi-Pak as my Murse, but I'm running out of room, and I'd like to be able to carry an tiny laptop (ultrabook/netbook). I need something in between size of the jumbo versipak and the messenger. Oddly enough, the diaper bag may fit that bill perfectly. The Murse is here to stay, gentlemen - we've been at a disadavantage relative to women for far too long, without all our needed crap - well no more!
Diaper Bag - something that no hardcore tactical AR15 ninja can live without! Having said that, if I had kids, I'd get one - I love MaxP gear (and arf.com).
This whole genre has jumped the shark. Along with the Zombie BS. I'm waiting for the Tacticool Zombie Slayer Biohazard Makeup Versipak. I bet it will be as discreet as the CCW pouches that we all want hanging off our belts.
Instead of slapping "tactical" in just about the most ordinary bags, why don't you(Maxpedition) just improve your already good products. For example, how about making some of your bags waterproof with materials similar with them breathable waders with appropriate zippers to match. Add a lanyard to the zippers so its easier to locate even in the dark. Build a bag for inner city couriers with reflectors etc. C'mon now. It's not that hard. Dump the tactical water bottles and padlocks, please.
I liked two of ur bags but i was really looking forward to a lunch bag and sunglasses case i mean how many people wear glasses? how many wear sunglasses? how many love maxpedition? high quality cases? How many people take lunch to work or anyone else cause just cant go out to eat every single day? Lunch bag? Come on guys! Basics! bet u cant make a bag that can carry my laptop, kindle, ipod, phone, sunglasses knife, headphones, camera, psp, wallet, and my max edc kit???? thats the ultimate bag!!!
I've already bought a versipack, and use it daily as a tactical diaper bag lol... works great! Nice to see a dedicated diaper bag versipack, that's awesome... I like the new laptop cases as well... lots of nice new gear coming out this year!
Maxpedition is one of those companies that strikes me as odd. They have a bit of a cult following, even though they don't bring much innovation to the market, they just build what ever crosses their mind (see: tactical diaper bag) and build anything their civilian costumers ask them for. But I guess that's a good thing. Still, I wish their stuff was different, with real and lighter cordura, and lower prices for their bags. And for fucks sake's stop slapping "tactical" on everything!
Looks like they have a lot of new products for 2012. The tactical diaper bag seems a bit unusual, although I have seen threads on edcforums in which people were looking for something like this. Tim may have broken a you tube record for most "tactical" mentions in a video of this length.
@Evoluztion I feel sorry for this schmuck in this video having to sell this latest stuff. I like maxpedition, got a couple of their bags and they are solid made products. The marketing has gone down the shitter no doubt. What a complete disaster. It's now a joke. As if the tactical diaper bag wasn't enough, now we are introduced to a tactical camo padlock. The only one in the world as it's touted. You serious Clark?
@jawbone83 I've seen plenty of those having raised two kids. I guess I could've done better with my ass wiping if I was more tactical about it. I do want first dib when maxpedition releases the very first tactical qtip, tactical toilet paper dispenser, and tactical cologne spray bottle. Think I'm kidding?
@Hiluxtaco Whaa? Maxped probably uses toughest cordura and heaviest YKK zippers than any competitor. My complaint with their products is that a lot of it is too obsessed with tacticool look. They need to introduce lighter nylon fabrics to reduce weight and make it less stiff; slap on less mollie webbing and velcro, make larger volume packs and real duffel bags that can fit stuff in for travel, not some cute mini sized duffels, introduce more civilian colors that scream less tactical
First of all, go learn what real American-made Cordura fabric is. And not the sharkskin-rough, Chinese-made, knock-off material that Maxpedition uses. The same goes for the Made-in-Tawain zippers that they use on their bags. Because they are not even close to being as strong, or as smooth as real American-made YKK coil zippers..
@Hiluxtaco YKK (Yoshida Kōgyō Kabushikigaisha) is a Japanese group of manufacturers, you may not like Chinese brand gear but sounds like you like Japanese produced items.
