one mans trash is anothers treasure...how true is that....i brought a park bench (it was in bad condition) for $35.00, i stripped the old paint and replaced some woodern planks and sold it for $145.00 ...awsome...
@jokusan1313 A couple of weeks, only because I did a 7 day auction and somethings sold the second time around. Though I was selling other items around the same time I was selling this so I made more then $300 for two weeks.
When I saw that seadoo, I just thought "pick it, pick it, pick it", but I guess, it was very heavy.
And the booster seats did look quite nice.
Another thing: never call your car a "beater", because this is what you will think of it, this is what other people will think of it, and how you and other people will treat it. You can drive one, but you should never think this way. You can drive the crappiest Yugo, it's still better than walking
@DJHcom Thanks for the beater commit! Funny thing is that my Mercury has been my most reliable car and I bought it over 2 years ago for $550.... =P Has never broken down on me. As far as the Seadoo we did end up going back for the whole thing. =)
You can also get old vacuum cleaners they usually are working just need the bag changed. If they are bag less they vacuumed up something that needs to be removed you can take out the obstruction and the cleaner will work just fine. If they are really broken take the cord and attach a electrical box to them sell them as extension cords. If that don't work copper is over $2 a pound clean the wire out and sell it I use to clean copper while watching TV.
When I was a trucker I use to carry a ladder that was like that one but busted I just cut the bad section off and it was perfect to help me onto the deck of the trailer. I didn't have to slide my belly on the back side of the trailer I placed the ladder against the tire and got on that way. Hey Christmas time folks buy these spoiled brats new bikes bc they didn't get away from the video games long enough to keep them running they are so lazy they will not change a flat. Ron Paul 2012
@cdltpx LOL Yep.... It is amazing what is thrown out due to laziness!!! Some time I really wonder how we can cry horrible economy when we are trashing all this good stuff!!!
@DeeOakster I agree that someone could very easily become a hoarder doing this, but for us we turn around what we bring in and have no problem turning a blind eye to the streets if we are overloaded at home. No junk comes in the house and only Ebay and yard sale items are stored in the Garage.
I do the same thing, and my two-car garage couldn't fit a bicycle! lmao It just seems like all the things I pick work perfectly, but there are no buyers for what I have.
I envy you for your finds! Rich people throw away the best things! lol
@tuffgongc9 me, lg about 22 inches or so, and around a 30 something inch tv, one cap was blown, my brother repaired it, now i have a new flat panel tv!!!
garbage picking is a great way to make money a guy by me threw out a 1980 fender 75 guitar amp which sells for around 600 i didntsell it i accaully use it
@KennyChumsky I really admire your courage (fighting the financial crisis that your country is goint through thanks to the bailout) Keep it up girl. God bless you.
What was worg with the lasko box fan at 5:00? You know the have little white fusies in them that make them stop working if they get to hot just like every other fan out ther.Take them out reconect the wiers and your redy to go!
@smashingstuff09 Actually, it works great, At first it made some noise but now its on our back porch for when it gets toooo hot out! Thanks for the input I did not know that! Great STUFF!
@dougyshl LOL Hoarders can't let go of their items! I have no problem donating, trashing, recycling anything I can't sell... =) BUT yeah... I could see where if someone would get attached to stuff they could hoard pretty darn fast!
so u dont come through scrap more than items that can be resold? kinda makes sence. have u ever thought about like a buisness like a logo on ur car/van etc so u can leave ur number and some one will call u to remove what ever someone is trying to get rid of? i have watched scrappers from spike tv and i have thought of this idea so i guess i kinda am passin the idea to u and see what u think.
@eviltrucks101 I am somewhat limited because I have three children, but in most cases it doesn't stop me. I always have an open mind to new and more profitable ways to make money. Shoot just about a month ago an acquaintance was foreclosing and his John Deer tractor was in the pawn. He was about to lose it. So I put a 5 min ad in craigslist and the next day his tractor was sold for over $400 of the original pawn and I received $60 for a 5 min ad. I watch scrappers, pickers and pawn stars =)
no i dont think u would end up on Hoarders. u do say u scrap, so it would be a hell of a thing to have a dump truck to take ur scrap metal in. doesnt it take like several trips to a scrap yard?
@eviltrucks101 Well, I live 30 min from my dump yard and I have to clear $10 in scrap just to pay for gas... I'm sure $15-$20 to drive around in a dump truck. Also, knowing me I will come across a lot of items that are not scrap-able and I would see value in for Ebay or Craigslist, etc... I just can not list and ship more items then what I'm currently doing.
@eviltrucks101 LOL I could not handle a dump truck. I can barely turn around what I am getting now. I think if I bought a dump truck you would end of seeing me on Hoarders... LOL I live in Florida
where the heck do you live Daaammnn im lucky to get An air conditioner

Good job! Making some extra cash, reselling to people smart enough to find a bargain and keeping it all out of the landfill.
