SEMPER FI... I graduated Boot Camp on Wed Nov 22 1989 PLT 2097 .... Yeah a Wednesday ... Thanksgiving was the very next day.
I went on to be the Honor Graduate of my MOS class.
I would have been able to retire on Aug 29 2009 My Birthday... Yeah I stepped on the yellow Foot Prints for my 22nd B Day.. Do I know how to celebrate or what?
I long to become a marine but am not an American. I need directions on what to do. this is my email casechase@yahoo.com I will really appreciate any help.
if you want to be part of the few good men and the finest soldier in the planet, join in the marines, your life will change for the better and best forever, dont remain idle in your community, look for challenge and see the world, strengthen your heart, mind, and physical condition, something that you can be proud of for the rest of your life
trust me this isnt a easy thing my dad is a marine retired veteran and he said if you throw up during training and boot camp you havve to pick it up and eat it and start everything back over......Someday this will be my thing.
@UxFxThrash - You get dropped for getting injured/sick that prevents you from training for a while, or because you cant pass any one event. Read through the website that is linked on my profile page for more USMC info.
YES... AND WHEN YOU TURN HOME YOU LIVE IN THE STREET, CAUSE YOU ARE POOR AND ILLLUMINATI WHO SEND YOU THERE TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY AND YOUR HOUSE... GOD SAVE AMERICA FROM STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha I like at 1:15 they're all slumping and depressed looking. Boot Camp for ya, when your there it is the worst place you can imagine yourself being, but once you get over the "what am I doing here?" and the " God Damnit this is the worst mistake I made in my life!" You get used to it, and when you graduate it was easy. Haha, the way of the Corps gentlemen. 0311 baby! All day everyday, Semper Fi!
whenever I watch these videos I want to cry thinking of what my husband had to endure to become a Marine. And every day I love him from a distance until he gets out and hope my love can somehow protect him from the hate. Semper Fidelis <3
@kevbe144 . No you dont need to be able to swim well. All you need is to be confident in the water to pass the water test. It is not about being a good swimmer. It is all about being confident in the pool.
i am a fourteen year old girl and i love the whole army, though a few months ago theonly thing i knew was:airforce=in the air, landforce=on the ground and the marines are really tough guys. well basicly its true!
i heard a marine once say to me:
"why do you want to join so badly?"
"i want to make a diffrance"i answered.
"then you should become a doctor or a scientist, not a marine"
"why the hell not?!"
"because yóu dont make a diffrance, but all marines togather do!"
@Lesleyel11 Ooh-rah! Keep your head up miss, when it comes time you'll know what to do. Don't make your decision so young in life, you want to go in for the right reasons.
@tylkbomb532 correction. marines are the worlds finest fighting FORCE. spec ops liek seals, rangers, para rescue, cant really be considered a force since there are so few in them. thats just my opinoin =)
@MassAxeMurderer You do realize there are like barely over 200k Marines in right now? Active Duty, Reserve and Retrired Active Reserve puts it up at 200,527 I think it is. Know how many SEAL's are on missions right now that we aren't supposed to know about? Haha, I appreciate the logic but there are more SPECOP units then we could put the Corps double in to fill. Semper Fi!
@MassAxeMurderer Still considered a force. My buddy GnySgt Davis was Recon Marine. They do operate in small groups, but a group of five can do the job of 500. Training, artillery knowledge, and all the other good stuff that enables them boys to do their job, earns them the right to be considered force.
thanks walton and by the way i dont get to go to boot camp till october now becouse something happened and now theres no slots open for my mos till then wich sucks my friend was suposed to leave monday and now our recruiter is saying that it might be delayed
hia there people my names mandy im 13 and ive decided i want to be a marine. i will not go back on that decicion, i dont care if i die at least it will be for my country right?
@ZAC2994 lol hey sorry bout my last comment it was supposed to be for another video i was watching the songs on this video are pretty good also. haha my bad...
I just graduated on April 10th. Where did you get that picture of the top of the reaper with the guide and his platoon behind him? man i will never forget ANY of that....especailly that reaper hike.
@BuckeyeFan511 I am Lt. Bruner of the USMC I have served two years in Afghanistan I was shot and wounded and I'm with my son who is a Cadet. OOO-RAH Semper Fidelis Marines.
i went into basic training at parris island feb 14 2006 that was a great valentines lol but honestly anyone who goes to parris island can and will become a United States Marine unless they find a way out which is harder also at 4:24 the instructor with the whistle was one of my DI's Sgt Fernald I was plt 3041 India Co
Really? I have studied Psychology in University, and in the army they mental teach you to follow orders from your higher rank no matter if wrong or right. If you ask any soldier why they fight in Iraq I guarantee they will say "For my country" not for doing something right or wrong. This is unarguable proof of my point. Hair is cut to remove identity and free choice.
You studied psychology in university? Bravo. So have millions of other dumbass kids. Even in the USMC, they devote several hours to the ins and outs of military justice, what is a lawful order, what is an unlawful order and how to distinguish between the two. The hair cut is used to prove the futility of individual effort (alone) while serving in the marines. It is not to take away your identity. I served in the army and except for a more mature outlook on things I didn't change a bit.
Definitely agree with m60jack. I'm no soldier nor Marine, but I'm in a military family. They certainly teach you morality and discernment. They don't tell you to "obey orders no matter what." The military holds itself to a high moral standard. The idea that command overthrows morality is fed only through suspenseful Hollywood movies. Did you know troops cannot take the money or possessions of an enemy killed in combat? Most people have no idea how the military is.
First, they don't teach you discipline in a university. All a university does is train you in specific fields for careers whether you're studying a field of Science or Art. All of the important fields are Science. Art degrees will put you back in the unemployment line. Morality study is exclusive to the Art field (unless we're talking a useless 2 yr).
On that subject, in order to be an Officer in the military you must have at minimum an accredited Bachelor's degree, and have a decent GPA.
I have been wondering about becoming an officer. After I graduate college and I sign up for the Marines, is the boot camp the same for Officer and non-officer? Also do women train with the men? And what are the possibilities of a women, going into the Marines with a bachelor's degree to become a pilot? These are questions I have been wondering about for quite some time. Sorry if it is bothersome but you seem to know a lot about the Marines. And the answers aren't really readily available. Thanks
I wanted to follow up swcnut. Many, many people enlist in the military for their college benefits such as the GI Bill which pays a great portion of their college. There are accredited campuses on base open to all enlisted personel, many of which are free.
In other words, the military opens doors depending on whether you're looking for a 20-year career, or simply a cheaper alternative to the high cost of an expensive university you've had your eye on.
Apparently the one thing you didn't do while you were wasting Dad's money was think about just how ignorant, hippie, and completely retarded your comment sounds here. Your branch of psychology didn't happen to be special needs, did it? Maybe you should ask yourself some probing questions, like, "Why did I think I had the right to criticize those who chose to protect me?" or something similar. Stop being an idiot.
First of all I pay for my own education. and second I respect their courage and bravery and I know their intentions are good. BUT If you ask any of them why they joined I bet you every one of them will say "for my country" and I also respect that, but who is in charge of the country? whose idea was it to go into war? George Bush, and if it was a great idea then Obama would not have called them off. I hate George Bush and not because he's American, because he is an idiot with lots of power
Poolee here, I want nothing more than to begin basic training. I know I have what it takes to become a Marine, and I know that I say this now without any real experience of a DI's cruelty, But I know that I can deal with the Mental stress that is placed upon a recruit, and I know I can handle the physical as well.
No disrespect to any soldier in the Army but, Marine Corps training is 100x more difficult and demanding both mentally and physically. That's why the Marines are the best of the best. That's why they are The Few and The Proud because only the elite become United States Marines. So therefore, your commment is not true.
it is true, when a great cityzen risk is life to protect another great cityzen,it is a great act of courage, and you dont need to be a Marine to do so.evry Democratic Country as is Elite, but we must not brag about whos the best, but work thogether,to figth side by side, like comrades. All my Respect to All The Great Cityzen who make The Decision to serve DEMOCRATIE and FREEDOM.
But you didn't say that, you said that real mean join the army. Which was a comment meant to just antagonize. Yes, everyone in the Armed Forces are making great sacrfices for our country and they are all the ones who provide for us our freedoms and I truly appreciate that. But the Marines are the best of the best. There are many people in the other Branches of the Military, who wouldn't be able to cut it as a Marine. Period.
The yellow footprints are what new recruits run to and stand on at recieving when they first get off the bus at either the Parris Island or San Diego Recruit Depot.
My biggest complaint about boot camp was that it was freakin COLD on Paris Island in February, they would never let us wear our pt sweatshirts under our cammies on the way to morning chow. Otherwise, it was no picnic, but it was a trip! Ooh Rah!
proud Marine here. got medically discharged in MCT (after boot camp) for a pelvis stress fracture i got in boot camp. went through the entire Crucible and 2 weeks of MCT like that and i'm going back for more. i'm reenlisting when i get out of school. Oorah!
5 stars mate. It brings a tear to my eye. I remember setting foot on those yellow footprints so very clearly. I wish I could relive those moments it was the proudest day in my life, it breaks my heart that I got kicked out for a fractured hand.
Thank you for the rating. I can't even imagine how hard that must be for you. I couldn't imagine finally getting there and then getting hurt and forced to go home.
This is a really cool video! I hope to be able to be a Marine...so its kinda motivational when I see videos like this. If I ever get to go, I hope its as fun as it looks -even though I know it will be extremely hard- i can't wait!!! Thanks for the great video:)
lol id prolly have to agree with that. i cant wait til i join either, but im only a sophmore right now. not concrete on what i want to do yet in the marines. prolly some kind of infantry or military police.
I am a sophmore right now as well. I am looking into the meteorology specialist program but I don't know yet, I've got a while to get it all figured out. And I am also sorta looking into the Marines Officer Candidate School... but I am kinda confused about it...
ah thats cool. yeah, im still kinda confused myself. id like to join the marines, but i also like army. i think the marines may be a little hardcore for me. Im probably going to do MP if i make it in becuase when im out, i want to be a cop.
i so want to join the United States Marine Corps

real men go in the army

Ooh Rah!

God Bless and Semper Fi
