I love The Hollies and especially this song! Hard to explain, because there are no people involved, just sensations, smells and memories of an unforgettable era that rejoice my heart and at the same time produce nostalgic!
@Marko661 You dont know anything about drums or drummers ive been a semi pro drummer for over 40yrs you wouldn't know where to start, ive backed some big named bands, dont give your day job up is the best advice i can give you!!
What a great, original sound the Hollies had. Riffs and harmonies that just stay in your head for ever. Loved them back then, loved them when I saw their concert a few years ago (with Carl Wayne singing), love them still.

The Hollies really sound great Love it I have this record untill now ,and Montanas Suzanne ,but I do not have the round table to pay the record its good we have it here .THanks " Youtube" love you.
Terry Sylvester gave the vocals the best sounding and charming second voice. Never surpassed. Allan Clarke one of the best. Tony Hicks elegant virtuos on guitar and important 3 voice. The rest of the band never forgotten. These 3 guys on vical are magic and big part of our cultural heritage.
Here it proves that not ONLY The Beatles were good in the 60's! And goodlooking!
By the way,and please don't get me wrong because I loved The Beatles too,but when you're talking about "harmony voices", like 1st, 2nd and 3rd voice together,I say The Hollies were better. But that's just my opinion.
Does anyone know or remember WHY the singer left the group?I was very young then, lucky me I have 2 older sisters who were Teens then and had their records, and I liked EVERY song from them.Timeless music
I was born in the wrong era.... would love to have been a teenager in the 60's. The Hollies are great - have to be one of the best groups of the 60's.

I liked the other drummer that they had better than Bobby. What's with the goofy hat he wears.

@aerophorel I cannot believe you have written that: doubt there has been any better drummer in pop/rock in the last 40 years

I adore Tony's guitar soloing in this song. Yes, he was so underrated and underused as a guitarist. He's FAB!!

Re Allan Clarke - he left in December 1971 to go solo....tho' he rejoined them within 2 years in late summer 1973.
and "Retired" in December 1999 as his voice was by then beginning to go......and his wfie Jeni was unwell.

You are so right! 27 in '69 and he's gorgeous...and happy. The Golders Green concert is fantastic...I fell in love all over again watching it!

Personally, I prefer 1966 as Allan's best period, but everybody has their preferences. :)
citybeat60 3 years ago
Yeah I prefer him from 1966-1970 :D Great song by the way, not so sure about the white suits though.
katdowli 2 years ago
Yeah, the white suits seem a bit out of place by 1969-but they look gorgeous just the same. :)

@AnneCherch Get rid of music videos and teach some singrs how to harmonize
IMHO too much effort spent on the visual and not enough on the music these days
