Plus, her performance (the revelation that she was gay) was too real and ABC feared that might cause problems, too.
Yes, ABC executives are a bit stupid. The character AND the actress offered so much potential for the show, but apparently public opinion is worth more to them than "the art", so to speak.
@DocCovington I heard ABC fired her because the storyline of her character wasn't going to an appropriate direction that's why many people blame the writers for what happened because Brooke Smith was really portraying her character very well and she's an amazing actress. I just hope that they ended their relationship and she'd continue to be McBrilliant because she's very charismatic ang gave GA a wonderful and interesting feel. I hope that they would give her another chance and come back on GA.

Also, she has been busy doing work for organizations like RaiseHopeForCongo and WWO. There are several videos on the former here on YT as well. :-)

She might have gotten the job not just because of her tremendous talent, but because she knows him or some of the producers? *g* You never know in show biz.
I have to say that Brooke is amazing in any part...she got my attention in Weeds, however it was her part as Erica that made me a devoted fan! I miss counting down the days until Grey's each week to see Erica. I look forward to seeing Brooke in her next role, but will always miss Dr Erica Hahn!
I am a solid Brooke Smith fan...she is an absolutely beautiful soul, who brings sooooo much heart to any role! I'm in awe!!!
There are bits and pieces scattered all over the net, but no clip collections of all of her scenes (which would be a little hard to put together anyway, since she was in, I think, a total of 13 episodes during the last season of the show).
I, personally, am going to hold out for the release of season 6 of CJ on DVD. =)

@gregoryname17 GA is one big soap opera these days, so a three-dimensional character like Dr. Hahn would be completely out of place in it.
Besides, Brooke Smith has LONG moved on to other projects. :-)

She was in one scene and was amazing. She needs to back on screen. Big small i dont care but she needs to be on screen as much as possible
