UNLESS you have a WIIKEY chip compatible with your wii! I got one and initially Brawl didn't work! However, i could update the chip via a website, and bang, it worked flawlessly and I was happy! So no, not ALL modded wiis will neccessarily face a problem! Wiikey people are lucky!

if your playing a japanese game on a japanese wii from what i heard it should work but a japanese game on an english wii won't work.

Ahhh...you got the japanese version... I know what went wrong. You see there are some games that have a region code into it so that only the system from that area would be able to play the game so for example. You would need a Japanese made or a bought wii in japan to be able to play the japanese brawl :( So I suggest you buy the one intended for USA. Well I hope this has been helpful... Good luck!

when did you get your wii? cause if you got it near the time it came out it wont have enough meory capacity to run brawl. i just sent mine in to be upgraded. check the nintendo website under support and problems with smash bros brawl.

Same happened to me just once, and yes it's because of the lens (dirt, dust mainly), you need to clean them.

If you live in the USA you can send your Wii to Nintendo and they can fix it for free, if you live in another country you should ask someone of the store where you bought your Wii.

This is a common problem actually, its probably saying that your Wii lens is too dirty (brawl is on a dual layered disc, so it is harder to read if thee is any dirt or dust in ur Wii)

Nintendo is giving out free Wii cleanings to all who experience that problem, check out their website or something

But it work when i first got it. its after 10 minutes that it stopped working
