Kids look to their parents for cues on how to act. Once the kid was smacked in the face, it was smart of the mom to laugh...you could see the kid look over like "What should I do?" and then started laughing with the mom. Screaming and trauma avoided. Win.
@Jowaxe true.... but you mostly use that tactic when the kid falls or gets hurt by accident- not when the kid is purposfully getting hit in the face with a ball. thats just teaching the kid to laugh when you throw somthing at someone or laugh when they get hurt. don't get me wrong, i laugh like hell when me or other ppl get hurt, but i do not wanna teach that to my kid.
