Whenever Netrebko can't sing a role, she spends time rolling around on the floor to take the focus away from her singing because she thinks this makes her a great actress. Like most Germanic productions of Italian opera, this sounds like crap except for Garanca. Netrebko sounds like a parody of bel canto..... like Miss Piggy sings Bolena!!

Dessay looks almost anorexic. Even a gown with little to no sleeves is not very flattering on her thin flabby arms and bony chest. As one ages, one has to be very careful about what no longer looks attractive. And a little fat on an older woman is always attractive; looking rail-thin is not--the face sags. A little layer of fat is something to maintain.

This is the third bel canto opera I have seen with her in which she sings lying on her back to expose her bosom! I find it hard to believe that 3 different directors have asked her to do the same thing. LOL.

A woman as beautiful as Anna can go naked on stage and it will still be Art cause she is soooooooooo INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!!

@LohengrinT - Dessay has lost her voice and she cannot sing. She sounds awful and has no stamina to perform the whole part. Besides, she is a horrible actress. Anna is beautiful, but this is not the only reason that she is a diva. She has A LOT more to offer. To save time and space here I advise you to read COMMANDOpera, from April 5 or Opera Chic. Cheers

@LohengrinT I apologize if I misunderstood you. I did not get the impression that the score was simplified, on the contrary, they added a few high notes compared to Calls. This is a very difficult role and a debut one for Anna. She will be better and bettrer in time. Cannot wait to hear her at the MET's premiere in September. I love Anna deeply and sometimes I overreact when I see so much malicious and biased comments on you tube. Cheers.

Up to her latest perfomance my opinion about Netrebko was: extremely beautiful woman, very talented throat, bad technique. After seeing her Bolena my opinion is: Divine Beauty, Dramatic Goddess, Extremely Talented Vocal Cords, very good Technique

Im in love with her I hope it lasts - if she improves and sings even better in the Met, Renee will lose the Throne forever
