cool setup, do the turtles ever fight eachother because i was keeping a common snapper with an eastern painted for about year since they were hatchlings and the snapper started attacking the painted so i had to separate them
@jojobo24 yes, they started fighting as they got older and the snappers had to be seperated...common snappers especially are very aggressive towards others, even if raised together
thinking of getting a turtle and put it in my 250-260 litre tank i have a fluval 206 filter and 2 air pumps and a backround that looks real, but i dont have so much gravel , i have 4 piranhas in it that are about 6-7 inches they eat goldfishes that are bigger then they are, do u think i can get a turtle in my tank? if so, can u tell me what type of turtle i can buy, how much it cost, how big they get, what they eat,and the requirements, and if i can order them at the closest pet store. plz reply.
I actually traded my flip out touch screen tv from my car to a good buddy who had this tank sittin around. it was his old cichlid tank...got a pretty sweet deal....check out my new video of my big alligator Snapper...should be up within the next day!
are the 4 turtz getting along fine? cuz i'm planning on adding a common snapping to my YBS tank, and i'm worried they might kill or injure each other. They're both around 2.5 inches in shell lenght.
they all get along fine and there's actually 5 in there now...if you check my other videos you can see my new orange phase common snapping turtle!! he''s about 5 inch shell and all the others are 3 or less....they SHOULD be fine as long as they're similar in size, just keep an eye on them when you put them in...if anything, watch for the YBS might nip at the snappers long tail..any other questions just ask
Thanks.. I've seen the other vid, cool turtle, but it's getting crowded in there. I know it's a 90 gal and all but in 1-2 years time it's not gonna be enough anymore(some would say now already). Anyhow it's a great setup, similar to mine except my filter is way less powerful and it's only a 75gal. I got rocks and wood pieces too and plants i like it but it's always a work in progress for me. I was thinking of making an EXTERNAL basking area, like another smaller tank outside this one
so i can raise water level almost to the max, and gain a lot of room. I've seen it done before, also here on yotube, it's quite easy, i don't get why nobody usually does so. I could use a custom 15x30 inches or even a cutted ikea plastic tank for all that matters, I'd love to put rocks and some regular plants in there and give it a more natural look. Whaddya think?
Yea thats a good idea, i too thought about it, but its hard to make look good and not cheap, ya know? if you do it though, please put some videos up...and as for my tank getting crowded, i have a 120 gallon tank being setup for just the snappers, and the setup is going to be awesome! i can't wait to finish it, but i'm not in any rush
well u're right it's not easy if u want something cool, the main issue is how to place the second tank in a way that it doesn't show any empty spaces between the wall or the room furniture and the 2 said tanks themselves. AND another major issue is how to give a smooth look to the transition area between the basking one and the water one.Ramps are gay as hell and obviously u can't use stones up to the edge. It's complicated but I'm gonna try some solutions in the next few months if i have time
I've got quite some time before he gets too huge...eventually he'll have that tank to himself, and once he's outgrown that he'll be in a pond in the yard...I also have the option of returning him to where I got him, in exchange for two hatchlings
dude thats beast

Hi. Awesome setup. I was wondering where you purchased most if not all your habitat decor. Petsmart is lacking in that department.
