im pretty sure..almost certain, that if an emergency came in, he would be booted out. the work load sounds light for JFK. why not have a child do it? haha. all stressful situations need to be fun sometimes! or the ATC suicide rate would be amazing
i don't see the big deal about letting a kid see what his dads job is like, i bet if this happend 10 years ago people would be happy for the little kid. plus to do that for a day would be AWESOME!!!!
I only read the last 2 comments....and clearly ATC was in control...both controller and supervisor! If anything this is a positive outlook at the future of ATC!
I don't feel that a child should be giving Airbus traffic clearance to take off. Telling the pilots when to switch to departure frequency, is alot different
Now i dont really agree with this cuz this is a major hub!!!!! tons of traffic any wrong mistake can cause alot of ppl to lose there lifes!!!!!!!!! some of you never think about that, i think it whoud have been alot better if they were at a smaller airport not a big ass hub such as JFK!!!!
lol "This is what you get when the kids are outta school"
The FAA is taking this way outta proportion. Seriously whats the worse that could happen? If the kid were to cause an incursion, the dad or another controller would have just corrected him and tell the planes otherwise.
I agree with the first comment. You can totally hear the smile in the pilots voices. all it did was brighten everyones day, and like the first pilot said, he did do a good job. it's really not a big deal at all.
I support controller and supervisor. The kid was under supervision of his dad and commands are correct. A kid wants to be always as dad, why can't he try once in life?... Everyone's dreamed as child on visiting dad's work place ;)
I think it's brilliant! When did we lose our sense of humor as a nation. You can tell these pilots thought it was the neatest thing. You can hear the smile in their voices.
The kid is obviously supervised by his dad. Nothing bad happened. His radio commands are correct.
Exactly. I've played games, and although that idea is irrelevant, I can tell who is enjoying themselves by the way and the tone in their voice. The supervisor and dad were DEFINETLY enjoying that little thing the son did.
And it was most certainly neat. One of the users on the AOL news said "this nation is becoming too liberal." My comeback; are we becoming too liberal, or too censored?
wow..i like your video..Thanks alot!

I wouldn't mind being controlled by a 3rd grader!

End they're careers, wow. A little extreme or not? Cuz u know two planes crashed and the dad left the kid alone to contol aircraft.
Comon be serious, the guy will probably be fined and suspened.
Has the world lost it's fun factor?

Except the CFR rules, of course. Plenty folks would like (and work for) those two positions.
End their careers - immediately. Bye guys.

Hay if a kid and direct aircraft I think they should let him move up a grade.

Exactly. When did we absolutely lose any sense of fun in this country?! Nobody was in ANY danger. Good grief.
The country's in danger, so lets demonize this poor father!?
