  • Actually the manner in which the EU spreads democracy is 'from below', meaning that they influence a population in order to encourage and give direction to those groups who may already have revolutionary posture.

  • @chris8hr The EU i think is a dictatorship which the only happy outcome would be its break up.

  • where tf are all the other MEPs??!!!

    the place is virtually empty!!!

  • Daniel Hannan for PM! Down with Shameron!

  • Dan, become an American and lead our Congress as Speaker of the House. I know it's wishful thinking and yet I wish.

  • Bravo!

  • Terrible WASTE for Mr. Hannan to use his TIME and ENERGY in that USELESS eu.

  • BNP and UKIP should team up just to get the main parties out! crazy idfea? I dont think so.

  • Consolidation of power is never a bad idea.... but wait, that's what the EU is doing. Never mind ;)

  • The percentage of the UK electorate that votes for those two parties should give you a clue to the flaw in your plan...

  • I agree mr hannan is brillian. Wish he would come over here to this side of the pond instead. We need him.

  • Hands off!

He's ours and we need him more!

  • The EU will destroy English sovereignty if you let it. I'll be rooting for Mr. Hannan on the other side of the pond - best of luck.

  • Join UKIP Dan, and bring the rest of the true tories with you. Let Cameron lead a party of half a dozen europhiles into the general election and get thrashed by the electorate. Meanwhile a giant UKIP will form the next government, we withdraw from the EU (causing many euro nations to follow Britains lead), and then we get back to what we should have been doing years ago running our country ourselves.

  • Oye Daniel, thanks for sticking up for Cuban democracy. Never heard any European (does England count? Har-Har) outside of the Spanish Pop Party even acknowledge that there is a dictatorship in Cuba.

  • Daniel Haanan must drive every pro-EU MEP mad which is good they need to understand that opinions are important :)

  • 4 stars. Great speech except your reference to Rene Dekart which seemed very strange to me. Why mention mystic crap in an otherwise great speech?

  • He is the most brilliant politician in the whole world today.

  • HERE HERE !!

  • how come the seats are always empty?

  • I agree with most of his points except for his comments on HAMAS. Israel is as democratic a state as aparthied South Africa was. In regards to Israel and HAMAS, I think Hannah is doing what he claims some EU officials are doing: turning a blind eye.

  • Look at what an ignorant boob you are.

  • I suppose that comment just tore my argument to shreds... How is Israel, a nation that denies basic civil rights to roughly half the population of the people within its borders, a democratic state on par with a western democracy? If one is going to call out HAMAS for its abuses, then call out the Israelis as well.

  • I agree that Israel needs to be held accountable for its actions like all nations. Yet I strongly support Israels right to defend itself from terrorists and countries bent on destroying their nation and killing its citizens. Their seemingly disproportionate response to attacks is questionable. The comparison to apartheid South Africa is less than correct in that the blacks in South Africa werent constantly attacking the white government with scud missiles and suicide bombers.

  • gbrady-The blacks in SA did fight back(ANC). And the Aparthied government responded with collective punishment. Just as the Israelis do. The Palestinians live in shocking conditions, humiliated and abused at every turn. Millions Palestinians have been hearded into ghettos that don't even have sufficent water supplies. Israel is a racist aparthied state by virtually every definition. I like most of what Hannah has to say, but consistency is imperative in moral arguments.

  • as a part south african

the anc did fuck all fighting besides ocasional bombing and terrorist atscks on civilians

all of the southern africa liberaion movements got their asess handed to them by the white militaries in the end their victories vere political.if it was a purely military question africa would look very diferently

  • Well, yeah, I suppose that's what a lot of the ANC was involved in. Their victory was political, like the Algerians against the French. The point being that collective punishment and keeping a large portion of the population in ghettos and townships doesn't work in the long term.

  • once agin i have to deisagree....algeria was a regular war basicaly african version of vietnam....anc never archeved anny kind of sustained military operation....in fact moust of the time they vere tryng to be as quiet as posible and as far israel goes the situation is diferent as well .....the blacks in sa did not deserve aparthaid in fact whites could have normalised the whole thing long ago and they chose not to

plestinians are scum on the other hand

  • I hear you. It's horrible what is happening to the Palestinians. What else can be done to get peace that hasn't already been tried? Israel supports a two-state solution yet can't make it happen. It is obvious that Israel knows it is in it's own best interest to end the conflict/occupation. If the Palestinians want the moral high ground they have to start engaging in "non-violent" protests. If they do that they will have the support of the "entire" world.

  • The Isrrael want a "two-state" solution that would give the Palestinians an unworkable patchwork state where each section was cut off from each other by israeli check points. A just peace is a realistic peace.

  • I thought that was what it was like now... not the type of State that was being proposed. The current "check points" are necessary to protect the Israeli citizenry from terror attacks. If the Palestinians refrain from attacking Israel and honestly "declare" peace and demonstrate that it can be maintained then there would be no more need for check points. in Washington DC, where I was born and raised, it is not uncommon for the metro police to set up check points in high violence neighborhoods.

  • This might come as a shock to you but most of the world think the country that has been occupied and is being treated like the Jews were in the run up to WW2 is the one with the moral high ground.

  • As for Israel supporting a to state solution, don't make me laugh, some in Israel do, but many don't, most of those in power have either been the latter or had to appease the later, the only time they had a leader who looked like he was going to make a genuine effort, they assassinated him.

  • Do you think the man that uttered: Well make a pastrami sandwich of them, well insert a strip of Jewish settlements in between the Palestinians, and then another strip of Jewish settlements right across the west Bank, so that in 25 years, neither the United Nations, nor the USA, nobody, will be able to tear it apart.

was after a genuine equitable two state solution?

  • this guy is one of the brightest, clearest, voices i have ever heard.how did he ever get envolved in politics?

  • ''Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber''

-Plato, Greek philosopher (424 348 BC)

  • Crisp, concise and unrebuttable.

  • Excellent points Dan :-)

  • Brilliant!!!! Five stars.

  • whos the guy next to him

  • Freedom is the most powerful force known - 'if it take a thousand years, we will be free'.

Thank God the Fourth Reich - sorry, the EU, won't be around much longer than the Third Reich, the one built to last a thousand years, the one that ended 988 years early.

    God bless you, Mr Hannan.

  • why are the seats always empty when hes talking

  • cuz sayin' the truth makes ears bleed. so they all go to the nurse !

  • The seats are always empty. Most are only occupied when the MP's are obligated to be there.

  • lazy fucks

  • VOTE UKIP!!!!!!!!!!

  • no way m8

  • who u votin?

  • GO! DAN GO!

You might be the only hope any of us have got :)

  • man, i can't get over how articulate this guy is. Never fails to impress

  • Well said. I don't pretend to understand all the inner workings of the EU but I'm getting the strong sense that it's being hijacked by France and Germany in particular and is going down a far left path. Which I think would be tragic not only for Europe but the world.

  • germany? GERMANY? The EU and NATO was put into place so that Germany could be controlled

  • No, fruknullarn, Germany hasn't been seen as posing a threat for a long time now. NATO is a coalition of European nations originally designed to repel a Soviet invasion and the EU is something else.

  • In my humble opinion, it's a far more disturbing reality: The EU is part of a much bigger plan. The final goal of the power elites (the ones you don't see so much of) is global government. There are many good (and plenty not good) videos on YT and after viewing a good cross-section the intricate web reveals itself and the unthinkable becomes stone obvious.
