By far, the most beloved of all the poets of the persian language when it comes to my people the Arabs.
For us it is Hafez, Saadi, Khayyam. We have some 12 translations of Hafez in Arabic ... all as brilliant as the Fitzgerald trasnlation of khayyam into english.
People have developed some strange theories why Hafez is the most beloved for us even when we have perfect translations of khayyam that are so popular and which were even sung by our greatest singers (e.g. um kalthoum).
I have not heard anything about Shamloos tape but I do not see the relationship? Just because Shmamloo's tape was good, everything else is bad? be a little encouraging! I thought this was a great peice.

Good production, make sure DO NOT PLAY WITH F/X BUTTONS too much. Work on close shut and try to loose head rooms a bit more.
