  • my G killed this piece of shit Korean car

  • when it changes gears it makes a little "boom" noise thumbs up if you noticed it!

  • This car is amazing. I don't have one but I have ride in one and let me say one thing, Hyundai is Definitively coming back. These cars actually nice I think.

  • just shows the engine upgrades since 1998 with my v6 camaro with the same engine

  • @crazycjh1 you mean same displacement right.

  • @form109 yea haha im dumb x]

  • Wow, that's really fucking slow. My 03 altima would have eaten it up. It's slightly faster than my Honda accord v6 but I can say that about most cars.

  • @mjpitche Is your Accord RWD, because this is.. Wouldn't want a *powerful* FWD car for sure. The 13" Genesis is going to be much more powerful w/ a 275HP 2.0T and a 350HP V6 which is the same HP as the 370Z Nismo.

  • @Turbo2012Sonata It's still a Hyundai. When someone asks you what kind of car you have you'll have to say a Hyundai.... and they'll think it's a little cheap slow ass economy car. Oh well, as long as you like it and enjoy it, you don't have to impress anyone. I had the same problem with the Altima, they hear that name and think "slow car" even though nothing ever beat it sports car wise when I drove it. I guess you can say the Genesis is the ultimate sleeper.

  • @mjpitche Lol, man at this point I don't give a crap what people think of my car's. I have had bad luck in the last few cars I have had. Its a Hyundai, but it can be debaged ;). Its a fun, nice car and I love the engine and way it drives so who cares what other ppl think. But honestly I test drive a 2012 Honda Accord Coupe today, and now I can't decide if I want unpractical sports car, or SOLID, nearly 100% reliable, and fast/safe Accord Coupe. + they look very sharp and the V6 is very refined.

  • @Turbo2012Sonata I have the 08 Accord v6 coupe and it test drives nicely but if they still have that Eco thing I wouldn't buy it. It has no high end because the eco system only allowed you 4 cyl after a certain speed. The eco system also makes the car feel like it is rocking at highway speeds because eco doesn't allow the car enough power to maintain speed. Also handling is soft and bad on sweeping curves but nice when moving in and out of slower traffic.I'd go with the v6 Camry

  • @Turbo2012Sonata The Hyundai might be a good alternative too, but I'm not sure because I've only driven the Accord and Camry. I was impressed by the Camry but the one I was looking at had a broken traction control system so that scared me off.

  • @mjpitche the SOnata is a great alternative to the accord and camry. THe 2.0T is no slouch either, you would have a problem with the eco like the accord, and it has more power then both. Surprisingly the sonata also is slightly larger then the accord and camry.

  • @pdavid24 I found that there wasn't anough leg room in the driver's seat so I think it is smaller than the Accord in that aspect.

  • actual, the manual isnt quicker, this has a ZF transmission, very quick shifting. plus they say the manual sucks in this car, too cluncky

  • im getting 5.3-5.7 with my stop watch. and you cant go by the youtube timer idiots, it rounds off to closest second.

  • Low to mid 6, guestimation. Takes off at the end of 4 seconds and is cresting 60 at mid 10-right at eleven. You need a clock to tell time, your gut is not a stopwatch.

  • i think the Genesis Coupe would be nice paired with the 4.6 Liter V8 that's optional in the Sedan....

  • @form109 try the new 5.0 engine from the r-spec and eqqus

  • @123456789027012 Yeah that would be sick.

  • @form109 I would say 5.0 which they using in sedan r-spec would be better option

  • @alexlugovoy yeah someone mentioned that below, but yes that would totally put the Genesis over the top...the 3.8 Liter is already sweet, the 5.0 would just be Bliss.

  • @form109 yeah people mentioned that, but I read you post first because it was on top

and as much I know rumors going on that they would actually make 5.0 coupe

hope it would come true. But at the same time new revised 2013 version of 3.8 liter 343 hp is better than 306 hp

  • @alexlugovoy the Genesis coupe is pretty much everything the Hyundai Tiburon should have been...the only thing is...the Tiburon seemed a little better built..the doors sound solid while the Genesis coupe has very hollow sounding doors, more soft touch materials in the tiburon too...im not dissing the Genesis either i love it.

  • @form109 Or the 5.0 in the Genesis R-Spec

  • @edthetallguy yup..that would totally put it over the top...i like the interior in the sedan better though...if the coupe had that interior it would totally be a Infiniti G Fighter.

  • very nice

  • 370Z instead, please :)

  • azz 266km di autonomia con il serbatoio quasi tutto pieno...alla faccia di sto cazzo

  • Auto's are usually quicker 0-60 anyway

  • Damn slow shifts. Give me a DSG anyday...

  • Put the new 5.0 V8 in there and you have M3 power for 20k less

  • mikec81 needs a girlfriend.. has a bit too much time on his hands to argue with the computer keyboard lol!

  • @mikec81 Dude we get it......Your just jealous.....I KNOW OK! but most vids i see when genesis vs other cars.....genesis wins most of the times....Soooooo i dont know what u talkin about. looks like theres more people that like the genesis then there is whos jealous( *cough like u).

  • @lilaznthug510 HA COUGH HA HA funny joke who am i jealous of exactly?

  • @mikec81 i dont know u tell me?

  • its 6 sec =.=

  • just stopwatched it from exactly when you hear the tires slip to to 60... 6 seconds

  • 5 sec... Starts at 0:05 Ends at 0:10

  • that was honestly 6 sec, i watched this shit like 15 times lol

  • @ikelemon Yeah but that's only him launching the car, the car wasn't moving when the rpm needle started moving.

  • It's probably 6.5 because he was driving automatic! No manual or the flappy paddles.

  • 6.5..... lol

  • I got 5.9 seconds on my stop watch , and this is automatic so pretty quick , get the manual and that prolly goes down to 5.4-5.5 to 60 , motor trend tested the Genesis vs the camaro and other cars , and they got 5.6 if im not mistaken with the Manual.

  • @MikeeePR22 5.4

  • @MikeeePR22 yeahp. whoever did the drag race against the 370z got like 5.8? I think. Idk it's on youtube.

  • @MikeeePR22 I recently picked up a 2012 Genesis Coupe 3.8. I was able to get mine to 60 in about 5.7ish. Although I'm no pro like the MotoTrend testers will be. Surprisingly fast little car...and loaded at $25k not too shabby at all :)

  • 6 seconds flat.

  • The automatic 2011 Mustang v6 is a hair slower in the 0-60, but the aftermarket for the Mustang is almost guaranteed better. Also, the base Mustang v6 costs 22,000, which puts it at the same price of the 2.0T Hyundai. A 3.8 Hyundai with any options at all costs as much as the new 2011 Mustang GT, which trust me, will eat it for breakfast. So in reality, if you want your money's worth, get the Mustang. Not to mention the stock 2011 mustang v6 Auto gets more realistically 33 mpg highway.

  • @Taslak

I see like 10 mustangs everyday. Don't wanna drive the same shit everyone is driving. GC will get people's attention any day. It looks 10 times nicer than a mustang.

  • FOR A $32,000 KOREAN CAR ITS NOT BAD !! @patientx77

  • no ballz

  • HAHA automatic

  • Speedometer doesn't move until 5.5 seconds and it doesn'r hit 60 until exactly 11 seconds. I think you people are a bunch of retards. Its 5.5 second 0-60.

  • 7 seconds? My 2005 Impala does that easily....also a 3.8 V6 but only 200 HP....and it's a huge car.....

  • @compmanio36 Its 306 mate and no your impala is a slug i can ride a bike faster than you =] jks

  • EWWWWWWWW!! Automatic.

  • hahahaha ur right i am a dumbass

  • they abosultely fucked 2nd gear though your totally right on that, my thoughts exactly when i watched the vid

  • hopefully he gets it........

  • i timed his run and got an average of 5.5s... soo its alright could be better but not bad.

  • never been much of anything that isnt a muscle car but i will hand it to this it is quite impressive

  • it isnt 5.4, and this is suprisingly slow for a sports coupe with over 300hp wow...anyone know the peak powerband for these engines?

  • @whatwhaaaaat If you look at the time it starts at 5 seconds flat and ends at 10.8 seconds just before 11. If you do the math that is 5.8 seconds. Trust me I've watched the video multiple times in slow motion. The peak power comes at 6300 rpms and it's about 248 whp & 228 wtq@4700. Automatics have a 20% power loss.

  • something is missing o i know the stickshift transmission.

  • @mpgomatic Could you please do a 0-60 run of the Lexus IS350?

  • @LiLTBoyy115 4.5 seconds. 4.3 seconds on a cold day, dry road. 2006 model bone-stock.

  • @iamscoutstfu Thank you so much! I find it very interesting that from 0-60 the IS350 can keep up with an IS-F!

  • If you start counting where he actually takes off it about 5.4 - 5.6 somewhere in that neighborhood. Not bad at all... also weather and air humidity impacts 0-60 runs. I am going to do some runs with my SFR flash and post.

  • does it really matter if the 0-60 time is 4 5 6 seconds? as long as it sounds nice, looks cool, and has some fun power to play around with im cool. i'm not gonna go around playing the whole race out of the stop light game like 99% of teenager/midlife crisis people do.

  • Not too shabby, but being a 3.8L I thought this would have more low end torque. The 2011 Mustang V6 does.

  • Some of you need to use a real stopwatch. I'm consistently getting around 5.8 or 5.9 seconds for this car.

  • image if they made a 4.6...

  • how do you get your hands on all of these cars?

  • @ktgritz All of our test vehicles come to us through standard manufacturer channels.

  • @mpgomatic do u get to keep the cars or do you have to return them if u have openings in the future plz let me know

  • @TheDuke1300 The standard review loan period is one week.

  • @mpgomatic is the Hyundai Genesis faster than a stock 2011 Mustang V6???

  • @TheDuke1300 Did you think reviewers buy each car to review them? Gee, that's a budget I'd like to have!

  • @PantstofryPWNZ i know it would be awesome

  • Is it just me, or does a 0-60 of 6.5 sec seem a little slow for a sports coupe with 306 hp and 266 lb/ft of torque?

  • @patientx77 that's for the 2.0t doofus. not the 3.8L V6

  • @alexlinkee Really? Then why does the title of the video say 2010 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L V6 Coupe 0-60 MPH?

  • @patientx77 This one goes 0-60 in 5.4 sec..

  • @patientx77 , your time is almost a full second slower than what everybody else is timing lol

  • @patientx77

That's because you are counting it wrong. Acceleration starts at 5.1 seconds in this video and ends at 10.9 seconds. If you do the math it's 5.8 seconds.

  • @patientx77 it is slow, a bmw 335i with 300ish bhp can get to 60 in about 5.2 - 5.3 sec .

  • @555NaKuL That's only 0.1-0.2 quicker.

  • @patientx77 Motor trend was able to do it in 5.4 seconds and Car and Driver got it in 5.5 seconds.

  • @patientx77

Thats what happens when you drive an auto...

  • @patientx77 it's an auto. the manual it probably a bit quicker.

  • @patientx77 this is auto, the 6 speed manual does it in 5.5, close to any other competative 300 hp car.

  • @patientx77 If you watch the Motor Trend video with this car, the V6 Challlenger, Mustang, and CAmaro, they record the Genesis doing 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.

  • @patientx77 nah, cause its the torque which is contributing to the low 0-60. The more torque you have, the more low end power you'll create and the faster the 0-60. This car will go fast, but compared to something with like 275 hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque, it will get its ass beat in the 0-60. i could be wrong, but theres my 2 cents

  • @patientx77 Very hard to tell the exact 0-60 with just a video. Look up legit videos such as Motortrends, they have the actual time. I believe its 5.4sec.

  • @patientx77 Motortrend has it beating the V6 Mustang, V6 Camaro, and V6 Challenger. I mean, it does cost a bit more but it does provide more in terms of chassis, braking, and creature comforts.

  • @therookie93 uhhhh ok.....so your comparting a bunch of entry level v6s to a v8.......why is that?????

  • @whatwhaaaaat Which of the previous cars I listed uses a V8? Please, I would love to know.

  • @therookie93

duhhh NONE thats why its a retarted comparison. THIS CAR has a v8. why are you comparing v6 versions of cars that offer v8s and this v8 hyundai? that is my question

  • @whatwhaaaaat This Hyundai has a V6 dumbass.

  • @patientx77 driver sucks

  • @patientx77 The 2011 Sonata 2.0T does it about the same or slightly quicker, I just bought one the other day.

  • @patientx77 it was 5 sec u dumass

  • @lilaznthug510

count it again, 4.5 seconds to 11 seconds, then do the math on that.

  • @lilaznthug510 What are you using to count? No, it was not 5 seconds

  • @IHeartMoney97 uh then u must have down syndrome

  • @lilaznthug510 Timed it with 2 different stopwatches. It was not 5 seconds, more like 6

  • @lilaznthug510 What are you using to count? No, it was not 5 seconds. At 5 seconds its somewhere around 40-42 mph

  • @lilaznthug510

More like 5.5sec. Still pretty damn quick for an auto

  • @lilaznthug510 geez calm down, it' only a video..

  • @lilaznthug510 Is it just me, or does a 0-660 of 5 sec seem a little slow for a sports coupe with 306 hp and 268 lb/ft of torque?

  • @iamscoutstfu its just you

  • @synawat I don't think so. I drive a stock sedan that does it in 4.5, 4.3 on a good day. this is a fucking embarassment.

  • @iamscoutstfu and what car would that be

  • @lilaznthug510 i love when someone calls another person a dumb ass and they cant even spell dumb ass

  • @gradxg i dont need people tellin me how to spell im from oakland ca (most people use the spell correcting tool) so fk u

  • @lilaznthug510 so your a big bad ass because your from oakland huh?

  • @lilaznthug510 Oakland? That's ghetto. Nobody cares where you live, because for all we know you might really live on Staten Island. On the other hand, your grammar is shit. And it doesn't matter if "most people" use the spell correct tool, because fact-of-the-matter is this: you don't. So the outward impression is that you're a dumbass, and "most people" aren't. And the last time I checked, Oakland ain't a nice place to live.

  • @scaremengaviation i dont care how i spell u dip shit and my point isnt how great oakland iz !!!!oh... did i spell "iz" wrong? NAW shit? i just have my ways of talkin u geeky biatch so STFU.

  • @lilaznthug510 I'd say you do care about how you spell since you got all emotional there.

  • @lilaznthug510 it quite obviously wasnt 5.. it was just under 6..

  • @lilaznthug510 it was at least 6 you dumbass, stick to thuggin big guy

  • @mikec81 lilaznthug510(i made it for fun) Your a good observer *claps But heres what i gotta say. STFU u faggot it was over 6 secs its was 5.4 secs closer to 5 secs so if a monkey like u know how to "Observe" then can u observe the secs on your stop watch...or just go to the animal channel and "Observe" your whole family reunion while they eat bananas u dirty little monkey.(You started it)

  • @mikec81 Yeah it was 5.4 secs Ha u fail!

  • @RacistTrollHunter it was 6 go back to school learn how to count then get back to me thanks

  • @mikec81 nah it wasn't straight up 6 secs it was around 5.5. u go to school and learn how to use a stop watch also its an automatic so go look at the manual 0-60 way faster.

  • @RacistTrollHunter 5.99 seconds, and im not going to sit here anymore arguing about this korean shitbox and half a second honestly i dont care im not going to go look at the manual 0-60 cause i just dont give a shit. Either way its slow, well maybe not slow but not fast either. now leave me alone im done go hunt some racist trolls you douche

  • @mikec81 Then why bother lookin up genesis coupes if u dont care and no genesis coupes arent slow. Dont be comin over here tryna diss cars that u dont even know about so GTFO no one wants u here bitch.

  • @RacistTrollHunter i came to see how slow this pos really is i bet i knew more about cars when i was 10 than you know now...go read another motor trend fuckface

  • @mikec81 You just jealous.

  • @RacistTrollHunter That was not 5.5 because maxima is 5.8. It was 6.6

  • @mikec81 seriously man. Go away.

  • @lilaznthug510 it was 5.9. use a stopwatch retard

  • @lilaznthug510 No, don't start the time when you see the speedo move, start the time when you hear him begin accelerating... it's nearly 6 seconds.

  • @DwnNvr its 5.6 sec to be exact

  • @lilaznthug510 Ok? Whats your point? I said "nearly" as in close to 6 seconds....

  • @DwnNvr touche'

  • @patientx77 no they are faster than 6.5secs haha, the stick shift will do 60mph in 5.6secs. aauto 6.0secs at most.

  • @patientx77 my stock 2004 L67 does that with 240HP

  • @patientx77 sir, I believe the time of acceleration was at 5 seconds, and I believe the time it hit 60 was at 10 seconds. Last time I checked 10 - 5 equaled 5, so I believe it was 5 seconds. This car does much better than the 2011 Mustang V6 Auto with 2.73 gears.... which kinda makes me wonder if I should get this instead of the 2011 V6.....

  • @patientx77 it was actually in the high 5's, acceleration started at 5 seconds, hit 60 at 10 seconds in the video. I don't understand what you mean, the Mustang also has 305 HP and 290 lb ft of torque and is a bit slower than this, I'm starting to wonder if half these posts are here just to bash the Hyundai....

  • @patientx77 Remember this was an Automatic , if you get a Manual it will be much quicker, and honestly this being a sports car as u said i would not get it in automatic , ppl with sports cars that r automatic r just lazyyy lol

  • it sounds like a supercar dog! OMG. What a slap on my face. nice car. envy you.

  • 5.4....hey this is quick.

  • Smokes any V6 Camro,Challenger or Mustang

  • 5 seconds not bad........

  • Rly slow, dont like it

  • Can someone tell me the difference between the 2.0T and 3.8..? Cuz i see more modified 2.0's than the 3.8.

  • @mrdiaz0108 From what ive learned the 2.0T is just a smaller engine but it is also turboed so it is very fast for the engine size. the 3.8 is now a track version so it is more for track use such as drifting, cutting turns faster and the slightly bigger engine. also is more sportier and advanced on the inside

  • @mrdiaz0108 The 2.0 is cheaper. 210 hp vs 306 hp on the V6 and it has a five speed tranny in place of the 6 spd on the V6.

  • @mrdiaz0108 Gas. I'd rather have the (faster) 3.8L and use regular gas than the 2.0T that requires premium fuel.

Then again, I'd much rather have a Subaru Legacy 3.6R, it may not be as fast 0-60 as this, but it'll probably last a lot longer and be better in snow. I've driven my friend's Genesis 3.8 track and it's a pretty incredible feeling car, but coupes are too small/impractical imo. I like having some passenger/cargo space.

  • @Bireno yeah ur dumb they both take unleaded but i'd still take the 3.8L over the 2.0L but if your trying to mod i'd take the 2.0t

  • @GenesisWhip18 'ur dumb' ...lol. Anyway, turbocharged vehicles generally require premium fuel. Apparently the genesis 2.0t can accept regular though, upon looking.

  • @Bireno 2.0T can accept regular because its tiny ass turbo and a 4cyl.

    lol

  • @GenesisWhip18

why....the v6 would be a better platform for modding....

  • @Roush20115XR umm im pretty sure there arent any shortblocks or longblocks available, or as many turbo kits on the 3.8L, trust me i used to own a 2.0T until i traded for a 3.8L, it sounds a whole lot better with an aftermarket exhaust than the 2.0T, but if your trying to get like serious gains in hp the 2.0T has so many ways and aftermarket parts than the 3.8L, and the 3.8L isn't made for a turbo when the 2.0T is so the engine will last longer with a turbo compared to a 3.8 with a turbo :)

  • @Roush20115XR but they are both sick cars no doubt in my shoes i'd take the 3.8L because i just want a exhaust maybe headers and that's it and its still fast when the 2.0T is not as quick with a exhaust and down pipe obviously but then again if i had 10 grand lying around i would get the 2.0T track then drop the lovefab kit into it with a built shortblock and be over 400whp

  • xoQueefCakesxxo !

how good of you to post something "nice" about a Hyundai, after bashing their cars in so many other posts.

  • The only Hyundai that has an engine that sounds good

  • the engine sounds like a porsche 996

  • STR8 UP LOVE THE GEN COUPE!(:

  • most power at about 4-5 x1000. You should shift a bit earlier ;-)

  • at least your mic was decent. so many vids the soudn is levelled.

  • needs a little more time to stretch her wings. she'll be flying.

  • This cars nice, but it cant compare the mustang.

  • @Mattskucas not much can... it's been around forever and has proven to be amazing over and over again. gencoupe is new plus hyundai is apparently putting an 8 cyl. (5.0) i think that will produce more hp than the current gt we'll see how that works out in 2012

  • Please people dont hate on ford or hyundai both car manufactureers are making great cars now. The geneiss coupe looks great and its performance is good. The2011 mustangs handleing, interior, exterior, and horsepower are on a whole another level. SO please dont hate on two car manufactueres that are both doing a great job. Also, both hyundai and ford shit on honda and toyota.

  • 0-60 in 6.76 pretty nice
