Are those the stock heads? What are you using to tune the PCM? Is that an SCT flash? Is the bottom end stock? Not a bad pass at all, but you have a lot more done than your letting on. I know for a fact you have either caltracs or some kinda torsion damper under the back. Im going to guess a 4.56 rear gear, and at the very least an aftermarket 4bbl intake.
Oh and Tinahiheels, you do realize your F series with a 408 weighs more, and the 360 with a stroker bottom end has 408cid too.

i got me a 98 dodge ram with a built 5.2. supercharged. mopar performance heads. big ol cam., intake manifold, cold air, upgraded fuel system, holly throttle bodie, 1 inch throttle body spacer, gear drive, and a stage 3 chip. and exhaust of course. 5 spd manual. it has a little over 545 ft lbs torque and im still working on it. i smash on the little hondas daily its my commute truck and boy is she fun. with the chip cranked down it stay pretty well slideways through 4th and im spiinin 35s lol
@tinahiheels nitrous is the only thing that makes that 79f series fast. out here in az, they use those to do 2 things. haul cow sh*t and push off real race cars.

Yurp. the 94-95's had the super tuned-down 302's & the 4.6's didn't get the PI heads till 99 which gave them around 260hp. These two vehicles obviously weren't stock lol and had a ton of money dumped in them but the dakota is pretty light for a pickup.

He was apart of the Division 7 R/T club.
He placed 1st in Truckin Nats in 2001.

Unless that Dakota was supercharged as well, I'm guessing it was an R/T? Because I don't think normal V8 Dakota's have THAT much take-off. But the R/T, well thats a different story.

its either a 5.9 360 cammed or the stroked 408 cammed. both sick motors from dodge. i have the 5.9 with a mild cam in a 98 ram and i run down mustang gts. no sweat

@6739735 Because the Dodge has more than 4 times as much money dumped into it than the Mustang does. The Mustang is running the stock engine and SC whereas the Dodge is running a Big Block V8 out of a '60s era car. AND the Dodge is running nitrous, dumbass.

Yeah I agree with stock but even then the stock mustang 4.6 is really pathetic. That's why performence upgrades are so plentifull. My friends v-6 stock except for ghetto muffler, Camero beat buddies v-8 stock 5spd mustang. Not surprised tho

It's not street legal but it has wheels, suspension, a motor, a drivetrain, and a body so it is considered a vehicle. My point is you can't judge which company is better by watching a video with MODIFIED vehicles. Stock for stock I'm pretty sure everyone knows who would come out ahead between a Dakota and a Mustang.

Considering you didn't mention the year models I guess you are referring to the new vehicles. I didn't know the v8 dakota could run low 13's high 12's because thats what they would have to do to beat a v8 mustang.

Yeah it might beat them to the 60ft but that would be it. Hell my old stock 2004 GT would outrun a Z06 Corvette to the 60ft with nothing but a set of drag radials so launch counts but its who crosses the finish line first. mustang>dakota and corvette>mustang

Read the comment I was responding to. The guy said Dakota>Mustang and I was disagreeing. A new GT vs a new Dakota wouldn't even be a race. The Mustang would win everytime. I will agree the 94-98 V8 Mustangs were underpowered but 99 and above would outrun a 5.9 R/T stock for stock.

Yurp. the 94-95's had the super tuned-down 302's & the 4.6's didn't get the PI heads till 99 which gave them around 260hp. These two vehicles obviously weren't stock lol and had a ton of money dumped in them but the dakota is pretty light for a pickup.
