Bad Luck on popping it mate. But at least it was fixable, and you learn more from mistakes than successes. So the more you learn the better it will be in the end. At least it didn't happen while out driving. Just remember that it needs to be practically idiot proof, or no-one but you will be able to use it. LOL.
Thanks , seems my mistake was not mounting the resistor on the heatsink. Bit of a duh moment:)
