Zune sucks i'm sorry to say but it is not as good as an ipod touch. If you have the 4th gen ipod it has a camera, bluetooth, internal speakers everything the zune doesnt have and WAY MORE. If you jailbreak it, it is AMAZING i've had both zune 16gb (original 1st gen) and an ipod touch 3rd gen. after about 10 months my zune wouldnt turn on for some odd reason and ive had my ipod for over a year. the ipod is so much better and one thing i HATE about zune is there's no internal speakers!
I'm in the UK so the Zune HD is not available here but I bought a 32gb Platinum when I was on holiday in the USA and can honestly say that it is the best media player I have ever owned - The UI is fantastic and the hardware is great, well made, not too heavy, not too light and very fast! Oh and how can I forget to mention the OLED screen - UNBELIEVABLE quality.

@jmac1334 No, the Zune HD doesn't have a hold switch. I can't think of many modern devices that do - I've personally never had the problem you're describing, so maybe it's not as big of a deal as you think? :-)

@ramafia09 The background images are pulled down automatically based on Microsoft's back-end service. As long as your metadata is correct, and it's not an obscure artist, you should see some info/images. It's not anything you can control though; it either works or it doesn't.
I like having the headphone jack on the bottom. When I slip my phone/mp3/whatever into my pocket, it usually goes upside down. Then the headphone jack is coming up from the pocket, instead of being down at the bottom all smashed up.

@HecticJ9 As long as they're on your hard drive and not protected by DRM, the Zune software should be able to see them - but all iTunes-purchased video is DRM-protected, so it won't work.

@sensangsun Well...sort of. There's no version of the Zune software for Mac. What Microsoft did was they released something called "Windows Phone 7 Connector (for Mac)" and it allows you to sync Windows Phone, and the Zune HD, to your Mac. But it's a barebones sync, it's not the full Zune experience.
I've had mine for about a year. 16 gig, black. I love it! The bad part is that I got a very large dent on the back, about the size of a quarter, and I have no idea how it got there. But it still works perfectly which tells me, it's a trooper.
Been using the zune hd since the release, really good mp3 player omg idk why they stopped with the updates oh well =/

@jmac1334 No, the Zune HD doesn't have a hold switch. I can't think of many modern devices that do - I've personally never had the problem you're describing, so maybe it's not as big of a deal as you think? :-)

Microsoft released the Windows Phone Connector for Mac OS X, which also supports the Zune HD. So I finally got a Zune HD.
There are things I like and things I don't, especially how slow it is in launching and quitting apps.

sorry if you covered this in the video, but how do mp3 files fare with the whole user interface thing? like i have a bunch of mp3 files but idk how well theyd work out with the whole background stuff. what im asking is how do they put those background images to the picture? lol.

@ramafia09 The background images are pulled down automatically based on Microsoft's back-end service. As long as your metadata is correct, and it's not an obscure artist, you should see some info/images. It's not anything you can control though; it either works or it doesn't.

I like having the headphone jack on the bottom. When I slip my phone/mp3/whatever into my pocket, it usually goes upside down. Then the headphone jack is coming up from the pocket, instead of being down at the bottom all smashed up.

@HecticJ9 no but i'm sure you can go into your actual computer and get the files from windows explorer (for windows), and if you have a mac, i don't even think the zune is compatible because the software is only compatible with windows

@HecticJ9 As long as they're on your hard drive and not protected by DRM, the Zune software should be able to see them - but all iTunes-purchased video is DRM-protected, so it won't work.

@sensangsun Well...sort of. There's no version of the Zune software for Mac. What Microsoft did was they released something called "Windows Phone 7 Connector (for Mac)" and it allows you to sync Windows Phone, and the Zune HD, to your Mac. But it's a barebones sync, it's not the full Zune experience.

I've had mine for about a year. 16 gig, black. I love it! The bad part is that I got a very large dent on the back, about the size of a quarter, and I have no idea how it got there. But it still works perfectly which tells me, it's a trooper.
