When kids or adults exert themselves the risk for accidents may increase. Are you saying kids should never exert themselves. This kid probably squatted 95, 90, 85, 80, etc. kg progressively to get to this stage.
this is retarded, teach the child full range of motion atg squats with just his bodyweight, then have him use the bar once he is an 17 yrs or older because one he'll just injure himself, and two he'll stunt his growth, etc, and three he is doing it improperly, either do power below parallel squats or atg squats but dont have a above parallel squat, especially at his age.
This borders on child abuse. The kid is still growing!! Get it? How's he going to feel when he's 25 years old, 5 feet tall, and wonders why the fuck anyone let him do that as a child??
News flash people: Chinese weightlifters start their training at less than 7 years old. ALL of them grow to the height they were supposed to (5'8+) and guess what? All of them clean and jerk what you fuckers deadlift. Have fun with that shit.
@thegreathistorian7 Good luck training with this depth. You probably squat a million 3/4 depth and think you're hot shit. Check your form in the mirror and shut the fuck up.
@604josh ufuriousbro? as long as the top of you thighs are parallel to the floor it really does not matter if you go any deeper, my form is impeccable and mirrors serve to fuck it up, I get a bro to make sure my form is fine- no mirrors on competition day fag.
im getting fucking sick of people saying it will stunt ur growth dis is stupid will u guys read proper information before u come here and pretend to know it all about lifting weights like us are some doctors. seriously people make up sese things bcuz they r 2 lazy to workout themselfes. i have read alot about this and asked multiple basketball coaches and personal trainers about this stunting ur growth and non of them said dat it did. i dont really like da kid lifting dat much he can get injure
Any exercise perfomed correctly will damage his column, height or development. The idea that "if you put too much weight, you will not grow", is one of the oldest myths in bodybuilding or powerlifting.
kids lifting weights is fine. I would suggest that he stick to lighter weights. All of the people who claim that it stunts growth are misinformed. The only way that could happen is if improper lifting is done. Improper lifting will hurt anyone, any age.
You're all morons. If anyone, regardless of age, lifts properly then there's no reason, NO REASON that they wouldn't grow. You think them doing a certain movement is going to close up the growth plates? It's an old wives tale and is completely bullshit. Your genetics and diet determine your height, NOT what you do in your spare time.
Next people are gonna stretch themselves on racks and say that it'll make them taller.
A 12 year old doing squats with any kind of heavy wieght for his body type will stunt his growth. if this kid keeps it up, he won't make it past 5 feet tall.
Its amazing that a 12 year old boy can squat so much, however like some of the comments listed below i think its unwise for a boy of that age to be working out considering the possible negitive health impacts. What are the parents thinking!!!!!!
This really is stupid and I am sick to see it. weightlifting at this age encourages fusing of the bones and stunted growth, not to mention partially accelerated levels of testosterone that may consequently drop in teenage years resulting in grwoth defects. Also, putting a 100kg bar on a childs back is pure idiocy. Think of the damage if the child slipped or folded.
@godhandsummer stunted growth? accelerated testosterone levels? Thats bullshit dude, weightlifting does not stunt your growth, 100kgs is nothing to a human body, the bones can handle it without any problem!
this child's parents should be ashamed!

Yeah, maybe you should do some research:
When kids or adults exert themselves the risk for accidents may increase. Are you saying kids should never exert themselves. This kid probably squatted 95, 90, 85, 80, etc. kg progressively to get to this stage.

still impressive though that a young child like him can still hold that weight on his back. im just saying at least teach him how to squat properly
