I don't know this piece, but I much prefer it over the other 'version' I've heard here on the tube, which is totally draggy, echoy and overcheesy. This one has a lightness and subtlety to it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
I really kinda prefer the fast one over the slow one, because the chords pass each other so quickly that I can't help but to compare it to your life flashing before your eyes. All your memories, good and bad, passing each other with rapid succession.
@pjbrubak Satie himself left the score unmarked, regarding tempo and rhythm, as he did with many of his piano scores. The "proper" way of playing this piece is just speculative.
