  • Now that is real music!

  • Une des plus belles pièces de musique grandiose! Vive la France ! Vive le baroque! Vive Mouret!

  • so there still ARE things exclusively for white folks

  • @DeliciousPoop Yeah, like being white

  • @DeliciousPoop not true at all. european culture is for all.

  • This was played at our wedding as we left the church. I still love it.

  • Are they playing the hallway?

  • I had chills running down my whole body from the start of the playing.WHHHEEEWWW how amazing

  • this so great i hope to become just as good a trumpet player as you

  • civilization I-III theme for England.... England Forever!!!

  • Weeeee chills! Love it! LOL!!

  • :O

  • Both of them looked stoned out of their mind.

  • @shawbaby1111 Since u have probably never played EITHER of these 2 instruments..ur ignorance comes through!! the y are both concentratin hard and the one playin the trumpet has to blow hard to make the correct notes!

  • pipe organ is one of the most beautiful and powerful instruments imo. I want a cathedral carved out of the bedrock beneath my basement with a pipe organ installed...

  • @vulkein The king of instruments

  • There are quite a few attempts at this piece on YOUTUBE. They all fall short one way or another, mainly with tuning issues, plus tone and tempo. This version seems flawless. An absolute joy to hear.

  • the music actually starts at 0:19

  • @vanzan5 correction, the orgasms start at 0:19

  • @jewboy11505 Why are we talking about orgasms? This is more than an orgasm, something words can't define!

  • A lovely rendition, indeed. As a trumpet player, I truly appreciate the complexities of this piece.

  • Somewhere this should be playing on tv here during the coverage of The Royal Wedding!.

  • @rmtmiller I'm not royal but I had it played at mine :)

  • @rmtmiller That actually was a different piece, although it was on the same key. It was "Trumpet Voluntary". I do concede though, that the two sound VERY similar! Both beautiful pieces!!! :)

  • Sends chills through my body... incredible

  • Got to love a great trumpet!

  • Thanks for posting. It 's great you give us some background too :)

  • Najlepsze wykonanie utworu jakie widziałem i słyszałem.

    Boskie!!

  • This is most certainly the definitive version!

  • Excellent!!

  • Wonderful! Inspiring! Divine! Beautiful! Mouret would be very proud! Very worthy ideed of passing on to the next generation. I'm very glad I've found this, such a gem. The greatest thanks to these heroic musicians!

  • Very good...

  • Masterpiece Theater FTW!

  • Ah yes... this takes me back to my childhood insomniac nights with my old pal, Alistair Cooke.

  • @Hoopermazing You mean Alistair Cookie

  • @stupidjunk978 No. I meant Alistair Cooke. I never liked Sesame Street.

  • hahahahahaha ok i feel like queen elizabeth with this song..but u know what?I DONT LIKE THAT FUCKING FEELING STUPIDSSSSSSSSS

  • This is so simple yet subtle, sophisticated, and beautiful. This song truly came from heaven.

  • Marching to the palace on the road of gold I rode on my bold bronco from a greatful victory, with my army beside me, the doors open the trumpets play, It's a glorious a day, oh dear, people cheer, nymphs, crowds, and children dance in melody, the statues stand in destiny, grand Rondeau sound, thus homeward bound through the court and streets to adore, I cry my final call to the city's core, Carry on, all, Carry on!!!! Always faithful and courageous a discovery of liberty throughout the ages.

  • I can't find the right version... not with 2 voices but with 3!!!! making a beautiful counterpoint... where can i find it?? i heard it once (in sec 0:27 should came in the third voice, going down or something) I know you play very well, this is another thing

  • @DiazdelVivar watch?v=96E9DXTMOlA&feature=related

    maybe?

  • This is also Elizabeth's theme in Civilization IV.

  • @helpermethod Civilization 1 (1990)! I've been looking for this one for ages. It's quite hard when the only thing you know is whisteling the tune.:)

  • MOOI NO

  • Love this! It takes me back to that big library with those leather books:)

  • Amazing!!!!

  • Awesome. Just freakin' awesome. I'm mainly into reggae & rap music and all the other stuff. I don't know much about classical music, but, among many of the other classicals, this classical stuff is just one of my favorites. Just freakin' awesome.

  • That was perfect!

  • this song is in the standard of excellence book 1

  • One word- AMAZING!

  • absolutely great music from two highly acconplished musicians, this is the calibre of playing most people aspire to,very few make it.

  • huhutag und nacht träume ich davon dass sich jemnd findet der mich vor meiner langweile erlöst^^

  • Awesome acoustics.

  • I love Masterpiece Theater.... for some odd reason! :D

    Good Job!

  • Loveley !

  • Very nice job! Very well conducted in a posotive manner. I'm playing this song for orchestra in school and I'm really looking forward to sharing this video with my fellow classmates! :)

  • i love tha trumpet in this

  • Practice, then... This is a magnificent music, you should be proud to play it.

  • Crap, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

  • You are an idiot or a clown if you think this is crap

  • @tuti2121212121 nice i aggree

  • @19931029liu your crap

  • i remember playing this in band class when i was in 7th grade

  • Wynton Marsalis? Rolf Smedvig? Simon Preston? Michael Murray? Wuersch and Solomon are clearly in the same league. In fact, one cannot fault this rendition of the Rondeau, the best there is. Well done and thank you.

  • had this playing as we left the church on our wedding day, November 21st , so triumphant! I chose it particularly as I'm fighting breast cancer and for me it's a big fighting tune, took me ages to find the download but so perfect on the day.

  • Find score at Maurice Andre's website

  • thanks for the post

  • A true european masterpiece.

  • VERY GOOD!!!! What amazing talent. Pure mastery of music. Too bad there are no big booty shaking females or bling wearing gansters. They will never make thier millions doing this.

  • HAHAHA... Funny comment.... But sadly you' re right!!

Maybe they should try this on MTV: classical music would have more success.

  • Aaaaand coming in at number five this week: Beethoven's Fifth! How apropos! (cool laser noises) Now here's number four on the Classical Countdown: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, by Mozart! Wow! Rock me, Amedeus!

  • @Katimashi

True class, and true intellectiual refinement; hard to obtain, harder to be acknowledged, and lost in a moment of carelessness

  • @Katimashi True, but they'll keep their dignity.

  • @Katimashi very well said.......

  • @Katimashi :I guess they'll have to resort to Beauty, Elegance, and Truth, knowing that the idiocracy will eventually pass, as it always does.

  • @Katimashi Indeed! Classical music, like this piece, was THE FIRST type of music around, and every "booty shaking female" and Justin Bieber have IT to thank because without it, neither they or any other musician in history would have a career. ;)

  • Easily the greatest Rondeau brass work on Youtube! Bravo!

  • I fully agree - the fullness & richness of the sound of both instruments played by gifted performers, coupled with the recording mastery of the sound engineer + the acoustics of the church all combined to create a masterpiece. An outstanding brass classic.

  • jo, qué bonito! :)

  • Très vif et en même temps simple, comme un vrai baroque.

  • Quite possibly the greatest Trumpet player [if that is what the instrument is called] I believe exists today. BRAVO!

  • Yes it is a trumpet. A piccolo trumpet to be exact.

  • gonna play this on graduation.......^^

  • BRAVO

  • for my 8th grade graduation they played this when my class entered.i love it so much :)

  • Have to play this for fife and drum corps, so this doesn't really help me with the drum part, but I do love the song.

  • magnifique...mes félicitations les plus sincères!

  • I am getting married on July 4 and this is my processional music. This is such a fine piece that communicates a lot of emotion. Also, my parents always watched Masterpiece Theatre when I was little and both of them are passed on, so it's my little way of having them present. Thanks for posting. And for those of you who want a laugh, search on Monsterpiece Theatre, hosted by Alistair Cookie (Cookie Monster). Hilarious.

  • I watched Masterpiece Theatre and Monsterpiece Theatre as well. Congrat on gettin married.

  • @poacap

I think it's wonderful that you used this in your wedding. What a great way of having your parents "present".

Lovely to hear the original composed piece. I always loved the version with PBS's Masterpiece

    Theater.

  • Gratz

  • but u have kids by now :D

  • The best trumpet i ever heard!

  • Perfect rendition of an extremely well-known classical tune.

At the end, I find myself waiting for the words: "Masterpiece Theatre has been made possible, in part, by a grant(pronounced 'grunt') by @#$% Corporation". (For the name of the funding corp, think HUGE OIL SLICK)

Thanks for a perfectly played post!!!

  • @StradMan37 : Ouch! but unfortunately, so true...I guess funding the arts eased their guilt

  • @isleofcapri2 Yes, no doubt about that.

Hey, maybe "BP" will begin to fund some.......ahhhhh, never mind. Justa buncha ˙spɹɐʇsɐq

  • Fucking brilliant.

  • Very enjoyable! Going in to my favorites.

You don't hear much about Jean-Joseph Mouret compared to other baroque composers. I tried to find a CD with just his music, but found nothing.

  • One of my all-time favorite melodies. Boy, those French and their excellent composers!

  • Totally awesome!

    Thanks you maestros!

  • Remarkable lingering relishment of every note.... The finest performance I've seen so far!
