  • Stamford up, Bridgeport down!

  • My family watches this video every night. Yes, you read that correctly, every night.

We have a 3 y.o. son who loves this video. We usually launch another browser tab and play the music from a live performance so the sound is cleaner and mute the sound on this video.

    Thanks for the upload!

  • There is no I-25 in CT. You probably recorded it on CT state route 25.

  • 25 is not an interstate highway it is a connecter route between I-95 and I-84 in connecticut

  • Why are you taking footage of a Fuel Tanker Truck? Do you know that we are protected by Homeland Security... This could be veiwed as a threat to national Security. When I see my truck and trailer being recorded by some one, I take liscense plates down and Foward them to my Head of security, Just saywho forwards it to Home Land Security. Just saying it not a very good Ideal to do this.

  • @bigbadblue4u ... are you really "scared" of people filming your tankertruck on the road?

What possible use could their footage be to them?

For me it is the point at which people want to know how my tanker WORKS .... You know the technical things to unload it and so on. We also have to check our trucks everytime we had a stop ... look for parcells and other strange stuff. Never happened do .... but I won´t say it could.

  • @AngeliqueEU Times are different, just have to be aware of the evil that could use anything that we put on the web to Hurt innocent lives. As An operator and a transporter of Haz-mat Fuel, you can never leave your guard down. I did not know that you have ties to this company.

  • @AngeliqueEU The perception that I took on this video was someone that was not involve to the trucking industry. It’s hard to know or read minds of people that I cross paths with every day I work driving a fuel Tanker. See in some one that might be recoding me as I operate this vehicle, sends A Giant RED FLAG TO ME.

  • @AngeliqueEU IF IT DONT THEN I AM BEING COMPLACENT WITH MY ATTENTION TO NATIONAL SECURITY, AND IN THIS TYPE OF INDUSTRY AND THE NATURE OF THE EXPLOSIVE PRODUCTS THAT i TRANSPORT, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR BEING COMPLACENT.

  • @bigbadblue4u You do not have to be THAT AFRAID you know. A fuell-tanker will not explode it's not like in the movies in the cinema! So I would say a Fuell tanker is not efficient to use as a Terrorist attack. Than one better seek out a Nuclear Transport. Also a lot of waste is transported (from N-plants) even from the USA to ... a country you wouldn't expect they'd drop their waste! (did one of those transports myself)

  • @AngeliqueEU dID NOT MEAN TO OFFEND YOU JUST TRING TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF DANGER OF VIDEO TAPING TRANSPORTION OPERATIONS. bIG bROTHER IS ALWAYS WATCHING.

  • @bigbadblue4u Really the transport is SAFE. And it is not like UN1203 is a big bomb waiting to explode!

Yes it will burn if it comes out not in the way you want it (tank leakage for example, but tanks are very strong = saw on German tv a test of tanktrailers which colleded with a TRAIN)

Transports of EXPLOSIVES (Class 1 .. and not all in that category) or Class7 would be more to a terrorists choice. But than again they would try to STEAL the Cargo(+ truck) or go to the warehouse to steal

  • @AngeliqueEU The flash over of a gasoline trailer will explode when vapors reach an igination source. When you see a tanker crash on here youtubes you will see a tanker burning, It s explosive inital igination is what is deadly. I have been Hauling fuel for 6 plus yeas and it is Realtively safe. When things go bad It is usually deadly. If you climb in that truck and drive it and not have some fear and respect of what your hauling then I shouldnt be driving this truck.

  • @AngeliqueEU No disrespect to you, Im sure you are a Professional Driver, I will always respect other driver in other countries such as you. I guess things are different in USA, as far as national Security. Over here anything that could be veiwed as a threat is watched closely. I guess I should not be so closed minded, Be safe my fellow Driver

  • @bigbadblue4u Well yes I think we are more relaxed. And I think - as I see it - that a lot of the American public is made to scared through media TV ... but yes a attack in the USA or UK is bigger than the % of an attack on other countries that is true.

I do wonder about this video ... why was it taken? Was the fuell truck speeding??? It looks normal on it´s way ... see nothing that would be very interesting to make a video about.

  • @AngeliqueEU I dont know Why I thought this was your video..... Sorry and I agree with you that our media is always scaring us about these things.

  • @AngeliqueEU I didn't read all the previous posts, but I did want to say that I understand why many people would not find this interesting. My husband drives a gasoline tanker and I have videotaped other tankers to show my kids while we were out delivering. I know many people play I spy or other games to pass the time when they are traveling with their kids. My family plays name that tanker.

  • @bigbadblue4u The only thing you see on this Video is a tankertruck in traffic. As you can see in every country on this globe which has gasstations. Not smart would it be to make a video on how to unload such a truck === not for terrorists but rather for people (criminals) who would want to steal the FUELL .. cause for example I haul 48.000 liters of the stuff at a price of € 1.65 a liter!!!

    That's almost over $ 100.000,-

  • I-25 goes through New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. So someone is lying here!

  • if anybody can tell me if tanker do less alley docking than box trucks?

  • @2darkmatter `if anybody can tell me if tanker do less alley docking than box trucks?´

    Well what do you think???

BUT we have to deliver in small villages and places where a lot of drivers would not dare to enter ... well at least here in the Netherlands ... in the USA a lot is BIGGER and easier. Europe and especially the Netherlands is OLD I mean OLD narrow cities we have to deliver.

But driving a tankertruck is different than box trucks ... cause of the liquid cargo.

  • What so special with a 3 axle truck and 2 axle trailer. 10 + 8 wheels.

U.S. style, Chromium and bling bilng.

My father have a truck in his company. Scania R730 highline. 3 axle + link 2 axle for 20ft container + semitrailer 4 axle, 40ft container. last axle are steering. So 10 + 4 + 8 wheels. 25,25 meter. And we drive it in the city, not the highway.

And the truck are white and green and have a logo. not so spacial.

Volvo FH16 700hk and Scania R730hk, Swe muscles.

  • Song is"I'd Really Loved to See You Tonight" by England Dan Seals and John Ford Coley..Song is from the 70's..And i'm back quiet..

  • whats the name of the song playing on the radio?

  • exxon mobil drivers are crybabies, i worked hauling fuel in conn. they are loosers

  • my dad drives a fuel tanker we live in australia

  • Are these tankers in the US capable of top loading? I want to buy one and ship overseas. They only top load.

What do i need to look for buying used? How often do they get certified?

    Thanks

  • @promise72 `re these tankers in the US capable of top loading? I want to buy one and ship overseas. They only top load.`

THE older types of tankers are .... but the newer ones you only can bottom load this is for the drivers safety and the environment. Loading UN1203 (GAS ... is it not in the English language) is not healthy stuff ... older collegues who did a lot of open top loading now have some problems remembering stuff ...

  • i work for exxon in nj and its a great job but to many rules can drive you nuts sometimes but all exxon and mobil tanks soon all will be gone exxon sold all there stations and work and just getting rid of us such a shame that truck you see in this video no longer runs in CT there done only jersey can you see them well just for a little while any way

  • @jsimone1320 It sure is a shame to see whats happening out here. I work for Sunoco in Picataway, who knows how much longer we'll be around, only time will tell. Good luck brother.

  • @jsimone1320 how is it now .. a year later. Do you still have your job. Here in the Netherlands a lot of oil companies sold their trucks to transport companies. I now work directely for an oil company. But my former job was at a transportcompany who did the work for ESSO (EXXON is called ESSO over here) and BP, Q8, Total and a lot more oil companies who do not own their own trucks anymore ... cheaper and no hassle with ´drivers ´ .... you know no hassle with people calling in sick

  • I want to haul fuel one day atleast once. looks intense

  • @WaWagasman also dangerous

  • looks like the best tipe of truck driving job. Lie ion the UK wouldn,t mind driving one.

  • why did you tape this? driver of tanker probably looking in his mirror and wondering who the weirdo with the video camera is filming him.

i haul fuel and we have been instructed if someone video tapes us, to try to get description of vehicle, plate etc and call police.....

  • @calvinhobbescinnamon I can understand it. Yall are under a lot of strict rules. like isn't it true, if you are a fuel hauler, and you get 1 speeding ticket you get fired? Hauling fuel is very dangerous and they are serious about saftey and stuff

  • what the artist and title of the song? sounds cool.

  • I will be driven one very soon

  • @zimgold was a petrol tanker driver in uk for 12 years.great job good luck

  • @bmwnasher Does it pay allright?

  • @datnotfair i was taking home £500 to £600 in 1996 my friend works for hoyer an esso contractor and the pay is about £600 at present.but you have got to work hard .i got out in the good times..good luck

  • @bmwnasher ... I made a little over 45,000 euro last year working for Schenk. But did a lot of overtime and saturday and sunday work ... saturday at 150% wage and sunday at 200% wage.

But yes a LOT of overtime for that.

It´s like our wages have stood still over the last 10 years or so ... but I am not complaing about the money I made don´t get me wrong.

Now I work LESS hours well days I make 60 hours in 4 days. 4 days on the job 4 days off. And make about 2200 euro´s after tax

  • @AngeliqueEU Got my last tax payee slip here 1997 £25.000 even one in 1991 £18.000 we worked 5 days about 50hrs. all tanker drivers now in UK are contractors. We had it easy but drivers now really work, their socks off, my truck was a bottom load and you could top load it, now In the uk each compartment is called a sealed package no need for dips just a green and red light, Drivers now dont earn much more than i did in 1997

  • @bmwnasher Yes I know. Schenk is in the Netherlands one of the bigger companies who are contracters for BP, Esso, Q8, Total and so on. When I hear the older drivers who worked directely for MOBIL they earned a LOT MORE than we do now. For all I know some of them even now have a higher wage cause they went from Mobil to Schenk but I do not know the details. From 1997 on .. the rase in wage was not much. And the if the raise in wage is equil to the inflation you are worse off.

  • @AngeliqueEU Mobil was good wages i got made redundant and went to Esso for an agency. Esso got rid of their drivers in about 1993 and the new guys in 1997 were only on £12500 for shift work, we got double that wage for the agency it was total madness . Hoyer now do Esso work. In this country in 1997 £500 a week and a house £90.000 now the same wage and the same house £250.000.... Loggin off if you want will speak to you again regards Paul.

  • @bmwnasher Very true .... wages did not rise and in many cases went down (companies outsorcing jobs to other companies to do it for them resulted in lower wages for workers) ... and prices have gone up. Houses is the biggest example. But also food, electricity and much more. So in fact we now have less to spend than 10, 15 years back.

The rise in salary was only a few % ...not enough to compensate for the you know the money gets worth less ... inflatie in Dutch.

  • @AngeliqueEU We got offered our own jobs working for the agency at £200 less i refused . the union said it was illegal but as the employment laws in the UK are non exsitent they advised we took redundancy. This was a joke, petrol tanker drivers are the most powerfull group of workers. but seemed frightened to strike in the 90s.Workers in England have gone back 50yrs. And its going to get worse.

  • @bmwnasher "afraid to Strike"

It is the same here in The Netherlands drivers are too scared to come up for their own rights and a good wage. Only the French are willing to Strike and make themselves strong in numbers ... we are afraid for the dispatcher giving us shitty jobs to do if we 'act up' It's very SAD indeed that we don't from one big block with the unions. 2011 now is another new year for a new CAO agreement. It will be a shitty one because nobody is going to strike!!

  • @AngeliqueEU (2) And the employers KNOW this ... drivers won't strike or will be attending massive Demonstrations! The only thing one can make things better (drivers wage is at 12,97 bruto -before tax- an hour) is to get behind and WITH THE UNIONS "Together we are strong" .... but it seems if drivers are watching for other drivers to do the job ... I don't understand ... they all are complaining about the low hourly wages.

  • @AngeliqueEU Hi There is a lot of Polish drivers working in the UK for tanker companys they wont strike i was talking to one for Hoyer/ Esso he was taking home about £550 a week ,in poland thats a fortune. But when he told me the days work he`s welcome to it .

In the UK all HGV drivers have to attend health and safety courses 40hrs in three yrs, i think i`llcheck Im not sure if petrol drivers have too aswell as the Hazchem course.

If you go on strike for more they make you work harder

  • @AngeliqueEU One of the rules the agency had, was if it was not busy, they would put you on say aviation fuel for training with another driver for a week, and if you left the company within a year they would charge £300 for the training. But i did not need training because i have transported every type of fuel. Did six months bulking JetA1 into London city airport. but they insisted? . Just a get out.

  • I too really worked my ass of in order to get this high of an income.

Many many extra working days and weekends.

Now I work 4 days ... (full 4 days and spend the night in the truck) and am 4 days off work.

LESS money but more free time .... and I work directely for an oil company. (tell you by email who it is if you want to know)

Working 4 days ... and being 4 days off I have still gettin used to ...

  • "We had it easy but drivers now really work, their socks off, "

yes there is a difference and also a difference in the last two years ... more work in less time.

And still the oil companies claim the want safety first .....

  • Nice video..that song takes me back to the 5th grade..think they play that on sirius 70's on 7..i'm back quiet

  • love the whistle of the turbo

  • That is a nice tanker and a good song on the radio.
