My brother and I completed this game only a few months after its release. Yes, it was difficult, but I don't think it's anywhere near as difficult as you claim, at least not when you're a child and far more willing to "deal" with learning a game's ins and outs without realizing that they're a result of unfair game design. I also completed Superman for Genesis, and that game was far less forgiving than this one, but I would never be able to do so now as an adult who wouldn't have the patience.
@tightlypackedcoil When you die from only a couple of hits and you get hit anytime you don't shoot the enemy the split second he appears on screen, and you only have about 10 spare seconds to finish the level even when you do a near perfect run, I call it difficult. I was playing on Hard, though.
And I don't think Dick Tracy is difficult due to unfair game design, it's just all about having superhuman reflexes.

I actually found this information from the Shocker Toys Exclusive Comic Con 2009 version of Dick Tracy (the Black and White Toy). It's interesting why Dick Tracy would get revenge on Big Boy Caprice. Also, awesome game by the way.
I only got as far as the sewers, I don't know why i stopped playing. The game made you come back for more even thought it kept kicking your ass. The only other game I know that was like that was battletoads. Too bad they can't make games like that anymore.

I agree with you man, this game is damn impossible. I m playing it through Wii Genesis emulator and have to save everytime!! I`m in stage 6 too...I think I finish it this night.
At least Dick "send him up the river" for now. It could have been worst, Dick Tracy could have killed him in one shot and throw his karcus to sleep with the "fishies" if you know what I mean. And when I mean "fishies," I don't mean the small ones, I mean the PIRANHA SHARK looking types. Yeah, that would basically be a BIG Meal to them than to BIG BOY CAPRICE. XD

Good playtrough, and Dick Tracy is really difficult.
That put, I can say, with hapiness, that I could beat this game in the original Sega Genesis, and yes, it took lotsa of efforts!

I don't think I ever got passed the 6-A sewer level when I player this game as a teenager. Until the sewer game, everything is familiar :-)

Even though the later levels are ridiculously difficult I still think that "Dick Tracy" on the Genesis (Mega Drive) Is still better the NES version.

Waaaay better! NES was a failed detective game. Genesis was a pretty fun platformer/shooter fusion with awesome music.
