i remember getting a bunch of the chrome racers for Xmas one year, the Barracuda was the fastest, and the el camino weighed a ton. So much fun!! The commercial really misleads as to how freakin' loud the things actually were LOL
Ok, who can admit pulling that rip cord and bringing the wheel close to your hair and it grabs a big chunk? I had to go to my Mom a couple times to have her cut it out or if I was lucky, she would back the wheel up and it would release my hair. Good Times!
Back in the early 90s I had a evil knievle bike that you put into a set of handle bars twisted the throttle to get the little bikes wheel spinning then let out the clutch to release it,anyone else know what I'm talking about
@daytonpaul I remember some sort of motorcycle thingy that had a launcher with a giant crank on it. The crank was connected to a gear & the gear would turn the motorcycle wheel. If you turned the crank fast enough, the bike would do a wheelie & hit the wall.
I could imagine it was tough geetting them to hit the right spot, but still,.....I love the altered car in the commerical ! Damn, I wish I could go back in time.
i loved seeing that old commercial, actually had one back in the day,I SEEM TO RECALL GETTING SOME SKIN INADVERTANTLY REMOVED from the wheel .he he..

I had Black Jack and the twin forked thingy. I loved those cars. Aside from the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle....one of the best toys of my childhood.

these cars were mcuh faster than the commercial shows...
they would actually hurt you if they ran into your ankles..
that just made them more incredible..."to hold that much deadly power in your hands was AWESOME!!!!"

The good old days when toys had some imagination. They can't today because makers have to please the PC crowd.
