  • Does it record movie ?

  • good video............i like it.....:-)

  • cool camera! i love it! And this camera is great for Time Lapse Photography too! you just need this device: tempusALL.bymac.org

I got very professional time-lapse videos with camera! cool sunset videos!

  • @DeadFredVideo there's no doubt that this difference within specifically semi pro and expert is smaller nowadays. d7000 is all we want. go to... freedsl r . co m remove spaces and take the chance to win completely new Nikon D7000

  • I pronounce it as nye-con and I am scottish !!!

  • I pronounce it as nye-con and I am scottish !!!

  • Ok I have a D60 and I found something about video. how does this work. is there a video mode? to shoot video. please help. and is there any one that knows about Flip cams. mine has a problem . I plug it in to charge and the red light blinks twice real fast. It will not turn on. is there some one that knows what went wrong is it a lost cause ?

  • @kowz4u there is no video mode on d60, you must have it mixed up with the pal mode which selects countries.

if you are looking for a nikon with video mode, try aiming for the d5000, d90 or d3100 (:

  • @xEvvieAteYourMomx thank you i did not think it could. I have had it a short time. well happy shooting. {[O]} :) I put a still vid of the station fireon you tube .

  • Great video and very detail camera review information.

    sgtwalk

  • should i get a D60 or a D3000?

  • @juliuswhiteman d3000

  • The vibration reduction in Canon and Nikon are in the lens because it works better. Sony and other brands have messed up by putting the vibration reduction on the sensor. I have a Nikon D300S and I love the camera, but I will say that Canon are comparable and there is really no difference between the performance. I like more of the small things in the Nikons more such as the menus and the lens caps things like that led me to buying the Nikon D300s.

  • witch is better d3000 or d60 plz tell me a can i dont want to make a wrong camera for me

  • wtf? im american i do not know how much "30 pounds" is

  • @anLOLProductions 30 pounds is around 60 dollars

  • do u think this is a good camera to uy??

  • yes

  • Did I miss it? Any mention of off-camera flash? Does it take a PC cord? What's the slowest shutter speed to do time photos at night? Will it take a shutter cable or does it come with a remote release?

  • Pc cord and the slowest is about 30 seconds

  • is this a good a good camera to start photography with??? or which one shuld i start with?

  • if you want to get into photography you should probably take a class, most classes start teaching you with a film camera. Once you've gotten that down you'll know if you really want to get a good camera or what you want, such as when you'll be using your camera so you can use that to pick your camera. If your not that into phototgraphy this camera would be good for the "average photographer"

  • i wanted to take photography classes but they are pretty expensive here. so my mom said no. but im really into it. and i wuld like a really good camera tht would last me a while and i culd start a porfolio.

  • Hey Rox, I have the D60 and it's very nice camera to start with, you could go with the D40 since it'll be cheaper. Since everything is starting to become digital you don't necessarily need to take classes, you could just self teach yourself by using studying online forums, videos, blogs, books, etc. I have a few friends who are self taught and already have side businesses for weddings and modeling with big recommendations. Just my 2 cents.

  • Although classes are always helpful don't get me wrong!

  • Hello Roxystarr, If I were you I would start with a point and shoot. If you already have then you should try out the Nikon p80 NOT THE p90! (It's not as good even though it's a higher version.) Hope that helps! -RBSB

  • thanks for yur help! but i already got my camera lmfao. but thanks anyway!! oh and i saw yur video.. i think it was oh pixies something lol it was really creative & cute, keep it up (:

  • Live View???

  • Does anyone else think, this is great camera to start with when getting into photography?

  • Yes I agree with what you said 100%

It is a first class "Starter" DSLR much better than an E-420

  • Get a used D40 of ebay and a few lenses. The nikon budget slr's are the top for learning on. You really cant go wrong with the D40 though, and add the 55-200mm vr.

  • who gives a fuck how its pronounced.. fuck me.. get a life u sad twats!

  • WTF who cares how you say it its all about a d60 camera you noobs.....

  • nice video I have a D100 I am looking for Nikon D that will compliment my current lens and has a movie/timeLapse function I have a Canon G9 but I is proving to be unreliable I want fast focus, fast shutter reaction, movie function, large LCD thank you

  • @schooder d90 would be your choice

  • The Irish say Nye-Con too, the brit's just like to turn everything 'english' - Nickon sounds cheap.

  • @Cagey75 i also like saying nye-con better. once a stupid guy tried to correct me about this... so what? at least i can take pictures much better than that guy.

  • CAMERALABS REVIEW OF NIKON D60

  • pronounce it properly.Its not spelt NIY-kon.Say brilliant or input?Is that briy-lliant?No!

    is that iyn-put?NO!

just Nik on(or lower case i compared to upper case iy)

    End of educating Americans.

  • There are no pronunciation rules with proper names, C906070. If what you said was any logical, how would you pronounce the reviewer's name (Nigel)? or, how would you say, "Nike"?

  • because there is an E in that Noun making it sound like eye.Its a japanese word.A lot of English corrupt other country products and names.Paris is pronounced Parree.EoEA.

  • i say it neee kon

  • Asians say Nickon.

  • After watching a second Nikon review I have discovered that English people pronounce Nikon as Nickon. And Americans pronounce it Nye-con.

  • Canadians say it Nye-con as well.

  • Is it a region/continent thing then? So North Americans say Nye-con and European people say Nickon?

  • I think so. I had never heard it pronounced the British way until I watched these videos. I wonder if people in New Zealand and Australia pronounce it the British way as well.

  • @McKIllaG5 Actually the US is pretty much the only country that pronounces it as 'Nye-con'. The Japanese themselves tend to say Nee-con, so I guess we're both wrong!

  • @WhatDigitalCamera Dang. Oh well. Once you have the camera, the way you pronounce it becomes irrelevant.

  • @WhatDigitalCamera cant forget about Canada now

  • @WhatDigitalCamera I pronounce it Nurk-honk.

  • @McKIllaG5 yep we do... lol because nikon is spelt with nik which is nick lol

  • i got mine few weeks ago. great camera!!! took like 1000s of pictures with it already. planning on getting the nikon 50mm f1.8d for it.

  • can anyone tell me if its difficult to use without the live view?

im defiantly considering getting one, but i would like to know peoples opinions.

    thanks!

  • nope.. its really easy.. tho your eyes will be tired if you are a first time user(cause you are using one eye only..).. you'll get a hang of it after a few hundred shots or so..

  • I prefer not using live view, unless I'm doing difficult shots. Live view is only better than the view finder (imo) for like, awkward positions, or you just don't feel like holding the camera up to your face.

  • Great review! Thanks.

  • im looking to get my first dslr and im split between this camera and the canon 1000d any suggestions on what camera to go for?

  • I also was choosing between this two, but to my eye and after many reviews Nikon D60 is quite better.

  • yeah i guess so lol do you own a dslr?

  • good tutorial

    5/5

  • im new and am having a bit of a problem choosing between d5000 and d60. d5000 is better i guess, but again there's quite a price difference. i would like to ask if the 3 focusing points is a very big problem? and also the live view (might have to get accustomed to it being used to digital cameras)? is d60 in any way better than the d5000 anyway? thanks.

  • this cammera takes great photos,.. but doesnt have live view and doesnt have vibration reduction in the body. I would rather look at Olympus E-520 a very interesting option to consider...

  • I ended up opting fot the E-520, very pleased with it.

  • Comment removed

  • The focus is NOT built into the camera, but it is built into the lenses only.

  • it has auto focus

  • it has 3 auto focus points

  • when you're taking a foto can i see it on the display ?

  • No.

The camera does not have live view.

  • No, but you can view the picture you took

  • Found the D60 online w/ kit and 18-35mm lens for $429, refurbed! Just got it today...eager to check it out.

  • I found it for 499 canadian

  • just bought one :D

  • How does it work i;m thinking of getting one?

  • Great review and useful information!

  • can i used this camera with an other Lens like tamron??

    thanks

  • yes, tamron, sigma are the two main brands that are compatible with nikon. I just got a Sigma 18-250 OS HSM lens off amazon. so far, a great lens for what u get. I have used tamron and sigma as 3rd party lenses, and both will work justfine with nikon dslr cameras. nikon lenses r expensive cause u pay for the name. yes, nikon lenses are great, but is it worth the extra hundreds of dollars. for me, i got something as good, with more focal range for hundreds less in a sigma lens. good luck

  • Thanks antgun007, but I still don't know which camera to buy, the new nikon D5000 is, is,.... shipper :)...

    have a nice day.

  • Nice review of nikon d60

  • Hey everyone i know ppl hate this but i just made a D60 unboxing, please view and rate

    Thank you

  • how much does the 18-200mm vr lens cost though?

  • $800

  • new, 700 on amazon. if used, anywhere between 500 to 650.

  • I just won the D60 with an additional 55-200 VR lens on an auction. Brand new I only paid aprox 150$ for it... It retails for 950$ in Norway. - Looking forward to get it in the mail :)

  • WHAT?! you are sooo lucky, I am buying one for 600 with an 18-55mm lens

  • if you have the cash, you'd be better off buying the body alone, and then the nikon nikkor 18-200mm vr dx lens

  • Hey skwerl, what do you think of the Nikon 50mm 1.8, I bought that with a refurb. body to take portraits and short range sport photos?

  • i wish I have one of this....

  • Does it have live view ? Thanks.

  • it doesnt have live view but the d90 has however you have to bear the price which is double the d60.

  • live view is a crutch and can make you lose things such as focus.

Even if it had live view, i wouldn't use it.

  • Live view in Digital SLR's isn't that important i agree with skwel23 its a crutch

  • It is pretty cool when in conjunction with Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.

  • or you can buy the D5000. it has a rotating live view display with 4 different auto focus options and isn't as pricey as the D90

  • It has auto focus but you need to have an AF-S lens to AF on this camera. The older Nikkor lenses are manual focus only on this camera because it does not have an AF motor on the camera body. The motor is in the lens for this camera.

  • What means this VR-lens? Whats the difference with another lens? Do they all have autofocus? Is this camera good for sportspictures (moving)

  • VR-lens means that there is "vibration reduction" so that your image will keep still.

It has a 3fps wich is pritty fast, Canon EOS 450D got 3.5fps

  • I think the camera does not have autofocus.

  • this camera does have autofocus..but with AF lenses only..this camera does not autofocus with older nikor lenses

  • is there an image viewer to see the pictures after taking them? or is that live view? sorry im new.

    please reply,

    ~Sam

  • Live view is when you see the optical view finder on the LCD display:D Im new too.

  • as soon as you take the picture, you get a picture displayed on the screen afterwards.

Liveview is what you would normally see through the viewfinder, displayed on the screen.

  • canon rebel xs or nikon d60

is the 7 focus point a big advantage over 3 focus points

  • better take d60 ... i have one and 3 focus poins or 7 dosnt do much diference

  • ohh ok thanks dude this is a really hard choose for me hahaha

  • just bought one , absolutely awsome camera

  • I just got my graduation money and i'm getting a d60. I can't wait to mess with the menu! That graphic option is awesome

  • great review

i think i might just go buy buy one right now

  • LOL, built in MOTA

  • even for pros the d60 is really good! i love my d601

  • i think the D60 is a really good camera, and maybe the best one if you want to buy a mirrorreflexcamera if you're not a professional

and maybe even for professionals, it could be a good camera..

    anyway, i LOOOVVVEEE my D60, so.. :)

  • get yourself some research at google en wikipedia?

  • Can someon e please explain me what ISO is?

    Thx =)

  • iso is the sensitivity of the sensor to light. if its dark outside and you dont have a tripod then you need to put the iso higher so that the camera can have a faster shutter speed.

  • It allows more light to come into the sensor.

The higher it is, the more light you have coming through the sensor, however, you the photos will come out grainy. But with my D60, I find an ISO of 200 to be perfect in most of my outdoor and indoor shooting.

  • im a beginner in photography, and learning all the basic skills and everything.

would this camera help me learn more about photography?

    is this a good camera?

  • Morris - I, like you, am a novice and bought this a week ago (£342 with the VR lens). It's my 1st dslr and it's great for what I need. There are bags of videoes on yt to learn tips etc and it's easy to use (in auto obviously) but also in the more advanced 'manual' modes. Am in danger of becoming a camera bore already!

  • What excatly is aperture?

  • It's depth

  • it's how much light is being let into the camera.

  • Oh, whats depth then?

  • depth refer to depth of filed, the larger the aperture the shallower the depth of filed

  • I have D60... perfect camera for beginers... Really good quality of pictures... but if I could choose again I would by D200 or D300...

  • i'll get a sony a200

  • i really want one of these

  • i dont know which to choose since i am an amateur . d60 or a200?

  • i'll take D60

  • i'd go a200.

  • Comment removed

  • D60. Photo quality is important ;)

  • yep...D60

  • All cameras are great... the important thing is how you use it!... please stop being fanboys, it's embarassing...

  • can someone give me a good review of the D60?

coz im thinking of getting one for my bday

  • check out cameralabs . com

  • Hey! Well I can't find any good review about the D60. This one helped though. Does anybody here know some other GOOD review of the D60?

    And,

I'm thinking about getting one, it's either this or the D40x, which one is better? List some reasons why!

Thanks and please respond back to this quickly

  • d60, newer, faster, 3fps, Fills better, AF is better, Yeah.

  • it says u can take shoot 3 frames in one second how do i have to do that?

  • using the sports setting, the icon is a guy running

  • D60 is a good started camera but for me it wasnt that good....can't do HDRi D=

  • d60 and a200, which one is better?

  • d60,

  • sony a300 is better

  • sony sucks

  • word

  • im most likely getting one

  • OMg need some experts help .. Tom. iM going to buy a new Camera and I'm choosing between Nikon d60 and Sony H50 .. pls help

  • Nikon D60 is a DSLR Sony H50 is a compact superzoom camera,so what type of photography are you going for?

  • go with d60, as the sony ones take different cards from sd. so if you already have a digital camera, then you can use those cards. with the sony, you have to buy new ones.

  • I am going to buy my first dlsr camera and i was prety sure i want the nikon d60 but now on doing sum research idk wheter the get the sony or the nikon please help write me a mesege PLEASE!!

  • Mate, the A200 is more advanced;)

  • dude, its sony.who you gunna trust.. nikon who have been dealing with slrs for years or sony who have just come in the last few years.

  • i love D60 the qulity is so perfect

  • will the lcd display turn off?

Or can you turn it off because dont you waste the batterey?

  • it turns off automatically to save battery by a sensor,

  • Hi there... I'm an amateur just enjoying photography... well i'm a graphic designer but in my free time i like to go some shooting...

so i would like to buy a nice camera... i think the D60 is a really good choice... it's cheaper than the others and has nice specifications...

can you tell me... could it be the best camera for me? i was also doubting by the nikon D60 and the Canon 450D or some other canon...

besides this... has the D60 manual focus on the lens itself, near the zoom? i dont see?

  • Nikon has it discounted for the holidays atm, just got myself one, and loving it!

  • Yes, you can manually focus the lense by sliding the "A/M switch" (located on the upper left side of the lense), to "M" (manual). I have a Nikon D40x and a D300 - love them both. Very comfortable to handle and lenses are interchangeable.

  • d60

  • D40,50 or 60?

    Please reply!

    (Aiden)

    xXx

  • i have the d60 it is awsome. you can check out my video of the north cascades, all those pics i took with the d60,

  • I have been given a D60 as an early Xmas present by my darling husband!! It has an extra 55-200 lens. As I am a 65 year old complete novice I have fund this camera marvellous and very easy to use. It does not do genuine macro but they are as near as damn it. I have also just got an iMac and an iPod so its never too late to hurl yourself into the 21st century. Get one yu won't be sorry.

  • Hey Janoota, I was just watching this video and saw that you have an interest in Macro photography. A inexpensive add on to your lenses is a Macro filter which will give great results pretty inexpensively. Just an idea, enjoy the great camera. I love mine. Happy shooting.

  • whats iso :P?
