My opinion, dont rage if you dont agree.

Pyramid Head is no angel. It is a devil. It is a manfistation of the main characters guilt and lust. He feels guilty for killing his wife, and feels he should be punished. At the same time, he hadn't loved his wife for 3 years, as she became ugly in body and personality due to her illness. These feelings take the form of an executioner that exists only to kill and and rape those it finds. A new onset of guilt spawns another of these beasts.

@diket3 not necessarily. Pyramid head isn't human, so he isn't conscious of his looks. The entire premise of Silent Hill is that the monsters in it embody all of the deepest and darkest emotions of the main character, so it's essentially a personalized hell. Pyramid Head represents the three most dangerous; Self Hatred, sexual fustration, and Guilt. His cleaver represents self hatred. He impales and constantly hunts down people because

@diket3 the person, somewhere in his mind hates himself and believes that he deserves punishment or judgement. Sexual frustration is embodied in pyramid head's constant rape attempts. Guilt, most importantly is embodied by his heavy pyramid shaped helmet. It ties into self hatred in some ways, as the helmet's inside is covered in spikes and incredibly painful to wear. The helmet is the painful and constant reminder that you have done something worthy of punishment in the past.

@Twistedimagination12 if you paid more attention you can see that the great knife isnt from the movie this costume was based off of silent hill homecoming... THE GAME in the movie the knife was on large peice of metal but in the game there is a seperate handle then the actual knife that has the notches cut out. im not trying to insult u or anything its just i am kind of posessive about this issue because everyone thinks that if he is shirtless that automatically makes him from the movie

@guitarguys94 And Homecoming was based off of the movie, so it is basically the same thing. This is not the real Pyramid Head, but just an adaptation of the movie version. I mean, you can even tell that it was inspired from the movie. The bottom piece even looks like what was draped across his liegs. Just because he uses the prop from a game, doesn't mean it is a justified Pyramid Head. And as for paying attention, you should pay attention to this game, which is the movie all over again..
