I play games for the fun of them. I don't judge a game as "bad," unless it's literally impossible. I was a baby when the dreamcast was around, but I never really started playing video games until I was 12. I just take whatever SEGA throws at me and enjoy the game for what it is.

I was born 1997 and i dont care so much aboute graphics. When i was little Sonic looked different then the old and im use to it. But strange enought i enjoy old games because they are so hard like Final Fantasy X Sonic 1 Pac Man and Megaman! It feels that i was really born in the 80s. haha ;) I got this game and it´s awsehome. I do recomend if you have an Iphone buy the game. Put on the motion controls and then you will have some awsehome time with your'e favourite Character:) Excuse my English

He grew up in the old top-cassette inserter Nintendo console (I don't know, which one, but it's damn old), short period of computer, then a never CD-using console (another anonymous), then XBox 360, then BANG! Nintendo Wii! Still addicted to computers all the way long. I've never really played any video games, I never really wanted to be good, 'cause I preferred computers and REAL LIFE. I'm what you'd call a young gamer. I'm 14 and I love all of the sonic games. I grew up with a dreamcast and I still love and play that. I also love classic games. In other words I don't care to much about graphics. But you are right. All of my friends are xbox 360 geeks who only care about graphics. They actually think I'm weird because I like these classic games. So they are selfish. But I will always be a sonic and sega fan! Go sega!
Same here I'm 16 and I played sonic the hedgehog 2 when i was younger I stoped being interested in sonic at a young age but I got back into him.I like sonic old or new version because sonics still sonic yes I do find the old sonic games to be awesome but I also like the new ones.Iike his themes and songs. say one thing if the fans just like to complain It's not sonic,it's not his games it's just people who like to complain.I know I rejected yugioh 5ds before it aired but now I like it go sonic.

*Sighs* I just gotta say... I grew up with the chubby, goofy, black eyed sonic and loved him. I was there when his eyes changed and when his tummy levled out. Who gives a crap?! Sonic's eye color and leaner muscles doesn't affect the way he playes or moves? So he's a darker blue, he's still Sonic. God, this game looks amazing, but so does Sonic Colors. I just like the franchise and will try what they put out. Why does appearence affect gameplay? I guess I'm just old school LONG LIVE SONIC! <3
I think the Sonic Adventure 2 model was Spot-on. His head isn't CRAZY big, and his body is about the same as today. I like that. Sonic's head is giant right now.
And I could honestly care less if he looks old or new, as long as it plays well. Now sure, it would be awesome to have retro-style sonic and pixelated graphics for MORE nostalgia, but I don't really care as long as it plays like the original games.
When will they make a good game in the AoStH universe? Bean Machine wasn't that good. Until Sega's up to that challenge, then I'm not too terribly concerned with whether they go totally old school or totally Sonic X. It's all Sonic to me, unless they make an AoStH game and make it good.
I don't see what the big deal is with this whole idea of continuing this storyline, though it is bugging to hear that after 15 years of waiting they decide to bring out a follow up, I love Sonic but I think it's time to keep to one way, also whats the deal with Sonic X - Season 4 another thing that is bugging me, is it or isn't it coming out and if so when?!

@mylegsasleep1934 That run is just the jogging animation. they didn't show full sprint cuz they wasn't sure if they were going with the old sonic circle run animation or if they were going with the CD super peelout style. but they still wanted to show what they did so far. thus crating a full speed sonic run with the jogging animation, that's why it looks so dodgy.

I am 14 years old. And the first Sonic game I played was the First on Sonic Mega Collection on the gamecube, years ago. Ever since, I loved all the Sonic games, even the ones with new graphics. Although, Riders sucks. But, I'm not so demandy about graphics. As I love oldschool games, too. So, not every newer gamer is so demandy XD

I was born in '94 but to be honest, the Adventures of Sonic TV series introduced me to the blue hedgehog. I've played the old Sonic games when I had Sonic Mega Collection PLUS on my Xbox (which unfortunately is broken but I now have a Wii), and being able to see a new Sonic game in 2D is awesome! I don't know what people's problem with 2D games that have 3D elements is, but that's my opinion.

Man Sega Genisis was the shit~! and then probably my favorite console from sega DREAM CAST was Legendary in my book, I don't know ANYONE who has sold their dream cast, they all still have them, including me. Dream cast to me was the perfect combo of Good Game Play and Decent Graphics. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 EPIC powerstone XD house of the dead crazy taxi the list goes on for ever, SEGA BANZAI~! if they do make another console it is bought~!

They tried too hard to give the fans something new & innovative & it always ended up exploding in their faces. I think that Maybe they should only release a new console every 5 to 8 years. Built from the ground up & for god sake.. NO ADD ON STUFF !! & make it backwards compatible with DC, Saturn, & even Sega cd games. This will create a huge demand for certain games.
Iphone is the said platform for the latest release of STH4---with that being said, it is still not confirmed, so I will hope in the most logical way that it is a new console from SEGA.
Wow! At first I was only curious about the new Sonic title coming out, but your video does bring alot of info into the light. I myself grew-up playing the classics and the recent Sonic games, but i'm sure this game will bring about good qualities from BOTH sides. From the comments i've read and what you say in this video, it seems all the sides have a good point. I'm also posative that this Sonic game will have a pretty good fan-base outcome like all the previous Sonic titles.
Everything is looking pretty good so far, and the story sounds like a good progression from the previous title. Way back in the day, I thought Sonic 4 would be out on the Genesis...But it's been over a decade since anybody has thought like that.
The ONE thing that bothers me when watching the trailer, is the transition to 2010. It looks like he's getting faster over time (hunched over, legs moving in blurry circles) and then BAM! Reduced to what looks like a brisk jog.
I don't see how they have such a "huge fanbase." I bought Sonic the Hedgehog to XBOX360 and felt rapped. Violated. My innocence was robbed. Lke they don't deserve to control Sonic's world is how I feel. Like even now. What? does he walk-run at the speed of sound?

i like these classic sonic games. but my favorites of ALL where sonic adventure 2 battle & sonic adventure dx. that was the best era of sonic before the originals. this is a cool game idea, & might kickass compared to some new stuff, but i think there should be more games like SA2B & SADX. It combines the classic sonic style, hoops, rings, etc. plus more, like 3D, more characters, & lets not forget the chao garden! the new era of sonic isnt as good as it use to be, but it dont suck.

However, I believe that is a generalization, as I have immense respect for classic games where good game play elements made the game what it was. (Golden eye on n64 for Eg)
@Cheesymango1 '2nd gen' was before Master System & Nes (those machines representing the 3rd Gen of home consoles). The 2nd Gen (pre 1985) included the Atari 2600. I highly doubt the gamer you were conversing with who was born in 1993 ever played any 2nd Gen consoles.

Really looking forward to this. Have been a big sonic addict on mega drive. Playing the 2d games on gba I lost interest. The pixel sprites were good, it didn't feel the same when jumping/running. I don't know how they programmed on mega drive but I hope it flows as good as it did then. 3d or 2d I just want it to have the same feel on the game play. I did prefer the shorter spikes and the face with less expression from the old games but know I will learn to love new sonic.

@mylegsasleep1934 That run is just the jogging animation. they didn't show full sprint cuz they wasn't sure if they were going with the old sonic circle run animation or if they were going with the CD super peelout style. but they still wanted to show what they did so far. thus crating a full speed sonic run with the jogging animation, that's why it looks so dodgy.

I am 14 years old. And the first Sonic game I played was the First on Sonic Mega Collection on the gamecube, years ago. Ever since, I loved all the Sonic games, even the ones with new graphics. Although, Riders sucks. But, I'm not so demandy about graphics. As I love oldschool games, too. So, not every newer gamer is so demandy XD

I was born in '94 but to be honest, the Adventures of Sonic TV series introduced me to the blue hedgehog. I've played the old Sonic games when I had Sonic Mega Collection PLUS on my Xbox (which unfortunately is broken but I now have a Wii), and being able to see a new Sonic game in 2D is awesome! I don't know what people's problem with 2D games that have 3D elements is, but that's my opinion.

Man Sega Genisis was the shit~! and then probably my favorite console from sega DREAM CAST was Legendary in my book, I don't know ANYONE who has sold their dream cast, they all still have them, including me. Dream cast to me was the perfect combo of Good Game Play and Decent Graphics. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 EPIC powerstone XD house of the dead crazy taxi the list goes on for ever, SEGA BANZAI~! if they do make another console it is bought~!

They tried too hard to give the fans something new & innovative & it always ended up exploding in their faces. I think that Maybe they should only release a new console every 5 to 8 years. Wow! At first I was only curious about the new Sonic title coming out, but your video does bring alot of info into the light. I myself grew-up playing the classics and the recent Sonic games, but i'm sure this game will bring about good qualities from BOTH sides. From the comments i've read and what you say in this video, it seems all the sides have a good point. I'm also posative that this Sonic game will have a pretty good fan-base outcome like all the previous Sonic titles.

Everything is looking pretty good so far, and the story sounds like a good progression from the previous title. Way back in the day, I thought Sonic 4 would be out on the Genesis...But it's been over a decade since anybody has thought like that.
The ONE thing that bothers me when watching the trailer, is the transition to 2010. It looks like he's getting faster over time (hunched over, legs moving in blurry circles) and then BAM! Reduced to what looks like a brisk jog.

the thing is, the only reason why its not as good is because of the story line and the new style. since when was sonic a knight? that was going a bit to far. plus the controls & gameplay ideas are not so well done.but other then that i say its still good&fun, just not the best sega has done.
i didnt care for sonic and the secret rings or the black knight, but i loved sonic unleashed. i grew up in the 90s as well and i remember all the old the games, so i know where your coming from.

i like these classic sonic games. but my favorites of ALL where sonic adventure 2 battle & sonic adventure dx. that was the best era of sonic before the originals. this is a cool game idea, & might kickass compared to some new stuff, but i think there should be more games like SA2B & SADX. It combines the classic sonic style, hoops, rings, etc. plus more, like 3D, more characters, & lets not forget the chao garden! the new era of sonic isnt as good as it use to be, but it dont suck.

Being born in 1993 and growing up with 2nd gen and current gen consoles, I can see where you are coming from when you say that "my" generation is selfish when it comes to graphics and visuals in new games. However, I believe that is a generalization, as I have immense respect for classic games where good game play elements made the game what it was. (Golden eye on n64 for Eg)

I have too add on a few things 1.Sega doesn't have as huge a fan base as you think "sonic" does but i'm sure you go up too a few people ask them name two things Sega have made and i'm sure they wont know anything other then sonic 2.Personally the game hasn't really come out yet and your already whining and complaining personally gives me a headache. I think it will be brilliant and will be a perfect way of combining the best from gaming with modern graphics

Really looking forward to this. Have been a big sonic addict on mega drive. Playing the 2d games on gba I lost interest. The pixel sprites were good, it didn't feel the same when jumping/running. I don't know how they programmed on mega drive but I hope it flows as good as it did then. 3d or 2d I just want it to have the same feel on the game play. I did prefer the shorter spikes and the face with less expression from the old games but know I will learn to love new sonic.
