Maybe it's the local new, being more prisons in the area, but it's nice to be called "Correctional Officer", by the media, instead of "Guard" for a change. The public has no problem accepting that a Police Dog is a sworn Peace Officer, but for some reason, we can only be thought of as "Guards" by many.

Unless you personally know all the guards in this prison, you should never say they deserve it. My father was a correctional officer who died on the job. He was simply trying to make a living to support his family and he did a great job at it. He did not deserve what he got.
