Any drop in demand will be eaten by another nations increasing demand. Energy efficiency may help on a longterm personal finance level for some but conservation only buys time and only works with a significant and equal global effort (Copenhagen?). Let Tom Hanks drive a prius, average Joe has more important things to worry about like a job that feeds his family.
