umm, just what I thought. A 700.00 dirt thrower. I seen another vid where the little brush scatters the dirt all over. Too bad the brush only works when it's aganst a wall, other then that, I'll go with the neto
Um... if the title is written in English, the video's intro is in English, your username is in English, the comments are in English and responses to comments are written in perfect English... why is he not speaking English? I'll wait...
@i000110001100 "he" ain't speaking English cause it's not "his" mother tongue and "he" doesn't like review videos done with an Austrian accent ;-) Besides this Roomba is way longer available in the US than in DE/AT, therefore the video originally was addressed in the beginning primarily to the German speaking folks. But you're right, I'll add also a German description to the title.
@macmaniacspodcasts Well that's bullshit. Everyone loves the sound of English spoken in an Austrian accent (see Arnold Schwarzenegger). Had you chosen to do this in English, with your accent, you may very well have been the next big Hollywood star by now!
how long is the operating time on single battery charge? how long it takes to clean one room? does it calculate the time for each room? how long it clean one room when in use with light house devices?
@glanz989 Depends on roomsizes, lighthouses and floors. About 3-3,5hrs. Also cleaning time per room depends on it's size. When using lighthouses it's about 30min/room max, without lighthouses it depends on the complexity of the room. It doesn't really matter anyways; Roomba should be set to clean the whole flat/house 5 times a week; that way he reaches every corner in every room often enough to keep it clean.
if you could compare, which Roomba is better at cleaning performance? 780 or 581? what is the bigest difference and improvement in cleaning ability? do you see any REAL big difference between them?
@InspiringAds Maybe I should do some CC in English on this review; 780 is a bit better in picking up dust and particles. Generally they have improved both it's algorithms for cleaning (how Roomba moves, you can see this in the Video, in it's last third) and also the cleaning head module and the aero vac bin. Basically I can agree to the stuff they're saying on Roombas Website. But the difference ain't BIG in cleaning performance.
@macmaniacspodcasts Thank you for your answer. I believe that English version of this review (and many others) would help many people. I would be grateful if you did that. You do very informative reviews, also ;)
@InspiringAds Thanks!! :-) I thought about that... well but I don't have the resources (particularly time) to do all the videos twice). What I instead do is adding CCs to some of my videos (e.g. the SIRI Review now has CCs and also the review of the Blackberry Playbook) :-)
@InspiringAds What's more important is that 780 has better battery-management, it can clean much longer on one charge and they improved the CHM (cleaning head module) in a way so that dust and debris can't get that easy inside the gearbox which was and is a problem with the 5xx series.
Hi,have Roomba REALLY fixed the CHM gearbox ?Unless it has been radically re-designed then as all Roomba's the problems with hair and dust ingress will not be solved! The touch screen interface although nice is just a more expensive repair when it goes wrong and it will!
I have 2x540's and 2x560's and they are very high maintenance,i would like you to do a "teardown" of the gearbox in the CHM please to see how and if that has been improved? Thanks Dave Cummings UK
@daveandvera They did changes but whether or not these changes will solve the definitely existing problems only time will tell. I cannot do a teardown as I had the Roomba just for a limited time to do the review. I'm using personally a Roomba 581 5 days a week since almost a year and haven't had any problems with it. Concerning durability of the touch-interface also only time will tell what's better. I think hardwarebuttons are probably more prone to disfunction than touchbuttons.
in all these years they still haven't added simple systematic behavior..
it's terrible and expensive.. pathetic
DanFrederiksen 1 week ago
@DanFrederiksen Fortunately they haven't! This "systematic behavior" is exactly what makes all the Navibots not cleaning as well as Roombas do.
