This song is so much to me. I found myself crying, not because I was sad, but because of the feelings of tranquility and contentment that this song evokes. This song could be a mother watching her children play in the backyard, or it could be that stretch you do in the morning before rolling over and looking at the person you love right next to you. It is not joyous or loud, but still, pensive, and content.
Some afternoons never end. They cling to the orange sand under your arm. Old wind over the dying ocean and your feet tracing stories in the water. I see the light of autumn in your eyes stretching into forever. Above us sun and shadows play house in the branches of a tree – the honey in your smile covers me, like a question, I can’t answer it. I can only watch you on fire, on our afternoon, slowly melting into me.

this makes me want to take the first plane to england and just scale the moors of either Cornwall or North Yorkshire...just the thought of being in that land enchants my soul...what can i say i'm an anglophile by all means :)
my ideal pride and prejudice is kiera knightley as lizzy colin firth as darcy, the length of the 1995 one, music of 2005, cinematography of 2005 and the mr collins from 1995 because hes just so hilarious!
I LOVE the score for this movie, it's so beautiful. This one is so nice to listen to outside in the garden, just staring into the sky and thinking about all the thoughts in your head. Gorgeous.
The title itself... pays respect to the dear individuals in society who aren't so caught up with the forever moving world of competition and techonology, that one spends a little time thinking of the world and all the pleasures and dreams it has to offer.
I like this movie also very much, and love the music even more. But I do prefer the 1995 series version better with Colin Firth. At first I thought all the characters were ugly and commented on how i did not believe they fit the parts, but I found later as I kept watching, that the story seems more realistic, that they did a better job keeping it true to the time. In this version with Keira Knightly, everything is too dramatized. I would take this music and add it to the '95 one.
@lilirishcricket haha you are too hard with this movie! I do agree with the fact that in the old version the actors didn't suit very well their parts, specially for Jane and M.Bingley and her sister! Jane is suposed to be the most beautyful and Miss Bingley is suposed to be an elegant women (you may say that the book doesn't asure that but look at her rank, the elegance goes with it). I still think that Jane should be pretier! But I love Liz, and M. Darcy too! And the parents! I can't write more
@lilirishcricket If a novel means something to you, then you should either not watch the movie adaptation or forget that the two are related at all. You'll end up dissatisfied one way or the other; the movie is too dramatized or underplayed or too similar to the novel that it has no originality of its own and therefore a bit boring. personally I loved the novel and I was able to love this particular version of p&p because I treated them as separate.
@lilirishcricket Sooo agree. Personally I don't think the BBC version can ever be beaten...the casting was just so perfect, not just the main characters but those like Mr Collins, Lady Catherine,Lizzie's sisters, etc. Plus Colin Firth is the best Mr Darcy ever(!)
I'ma daydreamer as it is and this song makes me want to lie on a field somewhere and feel the afternoonbreeze and just listen to nature!! hahaha no kidding.. one of the main reason I absolutely LOVE this movie is because of the score!!
What I particularly like about this entire score is that much of it sounds like it was written by a composer from that era. It is really the most beautiful music.
oh my gosh jalex!!!!!!!!! i just realized that your avatar is genis!!! when i first looked you up a really long time ago i had always ment to ask you what anime that was from but its from tales of symphonia XD well i had played it not to long ago and it's just weird ya know when you find out that something you like the other person has liked all along.
the "big three" in classical music are Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. Any of the three Strauss composers are good, Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite, Borodin(string quartet #2 in D major, 2nd movement is fabulous, Smetana, the Firebird Suite by Stravinsky is more modern, but awesome...the list goes on! Enjoy this world's fabulous music! There is so much out there!
at which part of the film was this? was it when she was on the swing? i think it is beautiful, as is all the piano music in this film. top notch best movie ever =]
so yeah, I don't know the word in english but is when the camera is turning around and you see the farmers with chikens and pigs and once is raining, in brief, it's after Charlotte tells her about her marriage with M Collins xD
@Livfor1Love That's it exactly. I found myself crying as well. Not out of sadness, but pure contentment and calmness. Something that is not often felt today.
Sorry...I totally disagree! I think The newer version is 100 TIMES BETTER! I love IT! Well, I guess no one could ever really go wrong with the story...but still!
Even though I think that the BBC 1995 version is undoubtedly better, I think that the film has a beautiful soundtrack and amazing camera work in it =] I love this song XD

I think the actress who plays Jane in the '95 version is much prettier, especially if you look at their perception of beauty back then.

@lilirishcricket I had no more space ! sory! hahaha
so! I wanted to add that the music of the '95 movie is really good too, very joyful (if the word exists xD)
but I don't agree with you when you say that is too Dramatized =P
