Vikings aren't imbalanced except for one thing: their range is too high. 9? Really? Why not 7? Still outranges Hydralisks, Stalkers, and Marines. They can transform to attack ground or air, making them extremely versatile already. And they're cheap to produce. Why do they need 9 range? Answer: They don't.

Collosi and Brood Lords, yes: units that are both much more expensive, must more difficult to produce in terms of tech, and one of which need a separate upgrade just to acquire that "short range." I know that those units are supposed to be the answer of why Vikings have 9 range, but it falls short of reason.

@Zeratul723 u need at least 3 vikings per collosus or a brood lord, they have only 125 HP so one fungal and its over. 125 HP ... thats like nothing. 3 fungals or 2 storms and its over. Corruptors on the other hand cost only 25 more gas and have 200 HP and 2 ARMOR, almost twice as durable, having even better dps vs massive. Plus, they can be turned into brood lords, so they are not completely useless like the vikings in ground mode.

@Zeratul723 You have obviously never played this game, at least as Terran. Terran army gets steamrolled by Colli without Vikings, and even then, it's hard to get them to shoot. If they did not have long range, Terran would have literally no answer to mass Colossus. Vikings are not very versatile already because their ground form is so weak and generally not useful. Vikings are not cheap to produce, and their position on the tech tree is awkward because they cut into your medivac numbers.

@Zeratul723 the range is to deal with terran's lack of offensive air. terran doesnt have a "pheonix" or a "mutalisk" that can deal with light air so vikings need to be air dominant
