There should be a way to vote "thumbs down" for every comment on every YouTube video simultaneously, then go back and "vote up" the five that are not stupid, condescending, or cruel. It would be a lot faster.
@ethereal2pt2 - the guy builds a 400hp electric bike in his spare time (when he's not doing his government scientist gig) and you think he's a moron. That's moronic.
@buffLaser2000 Seeing as he didn't bother gearing up at all is moronic. You obviously don't ride so quit talking out of your ass. Saying that because a man has the knowledge and ability to build something as grand as a 400hp electric bike doesn't make him immune to foolish mistakes. Believing that it does makes you, a moron.
whooooops, hope he was alright, he built the thing he should have known what was going to happen if he wasn't completely confident he could handle the bike then shouldn't have done it.... why did you shuffle his weight back? you need as much weight as poss on the front end and bet he wish he'd held that front break a bit tighter!!!
I ran 300 motorcycle races and never saw the likes of that act.
Taking it to another plane...I am an insurance broker (ex) and let me tell you that this little gig was going to create one hell of a claim to handle...and the adjusters and the underwriters and the entire staffs of all involved insurance companies (provided that the cycle operator had some sort of personal legal liability insurance_and the TV station making money on this had coverage, went nuts.
Poor man, he's proud of his creation and almost ruin it and his life.
I hate all the people that comment that he doesn't know how to drive and how stupid he is...just try to build an electric bicycle and then we'll see who's stupid.
This guy and all these electric is better then you and everything guys is very annoying, the way he talks like hes proving something to the world, like as if hes the creature of electricity of batteries even
I can't believe all the negative comments. Sure, it was foolish of him to try that stunt but we all do stupid things sometimes. Most of us have the good fortune to NOT have it posted on youtube. Anyway, kudos to Mr. Dube for inventing this electric "rocket." The days of gasoline powered motorcycles are numbered.
hey what if a child was in that van.... IT WAS STUPID. To show the power of this technology should have been shown at an appropriate venue......like....a..a...a......maybe...I don't know.....a DRAG STRIP with someone who understand what it take to pilot this crouch rocket....... The technology is cool but it is underminded by idiots who don't really care about a sport he knows little about...... no it will not be the end of gas power because the sport is to big to be closed out by this.
@csg8654 This is an oddity in the sport. This bike has to knock off better than a second and increase speed by 20mph to compete with the fuel power Pro Stock Bikes. You say their days are numbers, I beg to differ. People who drag race these rockets have it in there blood and it's called HIGH OCTANE. Compare apples to apples by power to weight ratios the electric has a very long road to hoe to become mainstream in the Drag Racing circles. Sorry but it true.
It just take one idiot to show how much of an idiot he is. He may be the "Money" man but that dosen't make him the smart man doing this. Not wearing the gear for something that has this much power could have killed him, PERIOD. Next time do the interview at the drag strip with the pro rider so you don't look so stupid. You have to make a lot of pass at the strip to learn what to do. A sidewalk is not the place for this beast.
Leave the glory for the pro rider who can handle the bike. This guy is typical of many engineers and doctors who think that "book smarts" translates to "being able to control the real world". Doesn't work that way. That bike doesn't care what your SATs were. If the rear tire hooks up and you are holding the throttle open, sorry about your luck. At least the egomaniac didn't kill somebody.
Great job to you and your team Bill. Sorry to hear about accident. Bike riders make mistakes sometimes. Don't let the criticism get you down. Just goes with the territory. You never know when that anamolous phenomena may occur. You just payed your dues to the motorcycle god that day. American auto companies should hire scientists as CEOs just so the job gets done. You're a cool nerd and everyone should be big enough to look past an accident and recognize an enthusiast
You don't do burnouts in public places. When will these stupid fucks LEARN! Race tracks are for racing, not public streets and sidewalks. He's lucky he didn't die.... moron.

Perhaps he should learn to do a burnout before he tries it in public.
