im trying to get a golf 2001-2004 for about 5 grand, do you have any suggestions on which engine and stuff is the best? its gona be manual too and might get some rims and lights and all that, so any recomendations?
@DragracingX v6 or 1.8T are your best options. V6 will have best sounding exhaust except realistically you wont be able to match the sound with a flapper exhaust like you would on the R32....the v6 offers the best hp gains if you spend a lil extra on a turbo kit.....if you get either engines and have a turbo on them, add a 3 in down pipe and also add a cold air intake. K&N make real good CAI's. for more in depth stuff id visit vwvortex.com
@DragracingX 1.8T is going to be the easiest and cheapest to tune right off the bat, but if you really want to make big power with money no object buy the VR6. Make sure if you do a VR6 one that it is the 24V head though.
