doing so constitutes a theocracy, and that's not what we have in the United States. I may feel that people who believe in talking snakes or that the Earth is only 6000 years old to be completely insane, and should probably not be allowed to hold public office or operate heavy machinery, but they are well within their rights - as long as they do not try to force such beliefs onto the public.

-well, I guess that depends on what kind of "morality" you are trying to legislate. if you are trying to outlaw books that have incendiary ideas or sexual language - well then, yes, that would be unConstitutional, as me reading these books, or "pornography" or listening to explicit lyrics does not infringe on YOUR rights. On the other hand, if I murder someone then I am infringing on another person's rights.

Murder, rape, battery, theft, etc. all harm other people. Someone who is gay having a relationship with another person who is gay does not. If you find it personally objectionable, that's your right. But I would argue that you should leave that to God to judge, not our legislative body. This is the only way to truly achieve the "limited government" that those on the Right side of the aisle claim to hold so dearly.
