Denouement is the peak, the main point, in a novel or written work. It is not necessarily the conclusion, the outcome itself, the end, no- it is the point at which everything MUST be resolved after... it is what tips the scale to cause anything that cascades to do so... it is the point after which nothing can be the same as it was before, literally, it is the "untying" of everything, it is the catastrophe.

I remember Rolling Stone's review on this song: they made up a little story, which ends with, 'put on the Dead and spread'. The Dead and the Doors both wrote songs that had an orgasmic denouement. (The Doors' was LA Woman.)
That is a shortened version of the one on the first Live Dead Album. Outstanding version. Would love to see a video of that performance. Flashbacks galore!

im gonna go ahead an say that most definitely Pigpen was my favourite singer of the Grateful Dead, when he sang he really put his all into it!! :)
and don't get me wrong jerry and bob are good too, but pigpen had this certain energy you know...
