@majorjuxta Technically, most of the hardware used aren't made by Apple. They do design the hardware and customize it to work with specific devices, but they're still built by third parties. The Apple A4/A5 chips are branded as Apple, but made by Samsung.

If I drop my iPad, I won't have to deal with bulky extraneous features like a 2x 2 GHz processor, 16:9 screen, DVD drive, USB port, SD card slot, HDMI out, webcam, and an OS that can multitask better than almost all others. No, I need the iPad, because I want to pay $250 more for something that is "magical".

it seems like a good system, but like other have said, missing a lot of necessary functions to even replace the functionality of a netbook. No USB, no common mac programs that I can see. How can you print unless you transfer to another computer. Seems like a fun entertainment toy but not practical for other things. Also wit hnew 4G wimax opening up, the next model should definitely have that capability!

think you should have both, still.. first of all, is there any usb plug? 2nd of all: typing program? 3rd of all: printer connection? obviously it doesn't have any especially schoolkind/ and related system yet. but if it got a usb plug, something like OS X SnoW Leopard on it ;b imagine what a success it would be then! it could replace a lot of laptops/netbooks ! i would never use my laptop again if the iPad just had all of the functions that I normally use on it !! so get moving Apple! improve!

Wireless printing to a local PC or Printer, Wireless data grabbing.

You need a PC/ Mac to run this thing anyway.

"Honestly"... like if you had already typed on an Ipad... of course you'll be faster with a keyboard, during all your life you've been using a keyboard.

I don't know about the mouse, I was just thinking of the mouse that usually accompanies the keyboard... but I agree that many fingers and two arms can be a lot faster than a cursor, when you're used to using the device.
