It has nothing to do with the fans. The reason why the fans are sounding like jet engines taking off is because the xbox is automatically adjusting the fan speed to compensate for a HEAT issue...

You Xbox is overheating... But at least you can play online if you fix it.

most have older consoles three consoles one repair one updated warranty and yet still im past all the warrantys i wanted to clean under heat sink so i removed the x clamp over the cpu and put it back stopped put evrything back turned on for few seconds loud fan two red lights no signal not hot. nebody?

@themutherfunkinDme , i got xclamp repair kit added thermal paste put heatsinks back on did the 12v fan mod and it works great plays all day no lock ups or rrod
