  • Cunt wat happens!

  • chow with a shotgun and two pistols is unkillable

  • All I can say is, those were some GOOD TIMES for HONG KONG !

GOLDEN ERA OF HONG KONG !

  • Why the hell did that priest come out so late. Was he just annoyed enough by all the shooting so see what all the hullabaloo was all about?

  • @ 3:30 dude just wanted to paint

  • it's funny how people compare call of duty games to real war, when it's really more like John Woo movies.

  • @merks91 real war is like John Woo movies? I'm signing up tomorrow!!! Here i come Iran!

  • Note that at 4:17 when the dramatic sequence to Handel's Messiah begins, and Chow and Danny are looking at each other, they're both looking the same direction. Danny's looking to his left, and Chow is too, but Danny is on Chow's right. They can't be looking at each other. It looks kinda funny when you consider that

  • @bretthauerseven I actually wonder if the shot of Chow looking at Danny is reversed. I can't tell, anyone else?

  • Homie at the 3 minute mark.... Hot Damn!

  • Troy Duffy is the closest thing to come to true heroic bloodshed movies like the killer and hard boiled.

  • Too bad that John Woo isn't making Heoric Bloodshed films anymore :(

The closest thing we have to Heroic Bloodshed John Woo is Zack Snyder.

However, there is still hope. Woo said that his next film is going to be about the Flying Tigers (Americans who flew for the Chinese during WWII) and it's going to be shot in IMAX. I hope Woo is as good at making dogfights as he is at filming shootouts.

  • just finished watching the boondock saints 2, I had to rewatch The Killer to clean my retarden mind. this is wat 2 guy bloodshed action film should be done, screw TBS1&2 and screw Troy Duffy.

  • Very dramatic.. sorry i meant VERY DRAMATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you can never have enough berettas in a duffel bag.

  • I Hate Cliff Hangers. Still a Great Pictures.

  • If Chuck Norris was asian....

  • kane and lynch the movie

  • @Psfreakman300 what?

  • Why don't they make movies like this anymore? Nowdays directors (especially Western ones) waste too much time on talking and psychobabble bullshit.

  • @hardcorehentai84 not to mention pointless cgi gunfights and slow mo shots of bullets spinning

  • wheres all the blood? this sucks

  • Achievement unlocked

    100G - Team Building

  • @HongKongActionFilms, could you tell me if you know (and that is if you know) , if these subtitles are correct?

  • NO ACTION MOVIE TODAY CAN MATCH UP TO THE KILLER! Movie directors should be watch this and taking notes, because all the movies that have came out in the passed mouths have being pretty sad. Please John Woo make more movies like this.

  • @RAE10182504 I disagree. Hard boiled is a good equal.

  • @TheEgotasticRipoff True you are right about Hard Boiled, that movie has a great 30 mint shootout. Its just sad to think that allot of people don't know about Hard Boiled or even The Killer, but shit everyone knows about Harry Potter and shit like that.

  • @RAE10182504 Fuck Harry Potter. I'll take a Better Tomorrow, Bullet in the head, The Killer and Hard boiled over that harry potter shit any day of the week. If Tequila Yuen was in Harry potter, that movie would be over in 5 minutes after Tequila plants one right in Voldemort's skull ;-)

  • The scene that starts at 6:06 is so fuckin badass !!

  • fucking wow :P

  • Criterion

  • This is one of my favourite movies ever, and yet, every time I come back to it I realise I've forgotten just how impossibly good the editing and choreography actually is. It's still mindblowing after the first few dozen times.

  • Danny Lee's score: 9000

    Chow Yun Fat's score: 9001

    WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Which version is this from. The Criterion Collection? or some other version??

  • I love that for half the gunfight, Ah jong hides behind a single pew... which is not even solid. Apparently the 20 guys standing ten yards away can't shoot through the one foot gap. :P

  • I guess badguys are meant to be terrible shooters.:)

  • WAY BETTER than the Dragon Dynasty R1 print. Anyone agree?

  • 5:05 second chance

  • they are such bosses

  • (this is the promotional video for the Hong Kong tourism agency)

  • 5:38 THAT WAS NASTY!! HATS OFF TO THAT STUNTMAN!!

  • THE GREATEST MODERN-DAY SHOOTOUT ACTION SEQUENCE IN CINEMATIC HISTORY! YOU CANNOT RECREATE A MASTERPIECE LIKE THIS!

  • Ah jong!

  • 1 why is everyone in white 2 how long does it take to run out of ammo 3 like forrest gump LET JANNY GO!

  • lol i now know how to tell the good guys from the bad guys.... the good guys are the ones covered in blood but alive and shooting

  • Damn and it just cuts off....now I have to watch the movie to see what happens xD....

  • Im so glad the american morons who thought they can do a Cowboy Bebop movie in Live action are no longer doing it. If anyone was to do it, it would be John Woo..

  • No I can never go into a chuch without thinking about this scene.

    3:09 is classic John Woo!!!

  • -time extend-

    -ACTION!-

  • @gohdan

    RELOAD

    RELOAD

  • sorry i mean pre hollywood john woo

  • Post Hollywood John woo was fantastic. He delivered here the pure wrenching emotions throught the action scenes beautifully shown with the slow motion

  • Tequila and "alan"(depending on translation) in Hardboiled were tough, but not this tough...

  • 3:19, when Danny takes one in his stomach, you can see the outlines of the blood back in slow-mo. Ahhhh... the cheepnis

  • 4.03 best moment

  • look how they ate the dogs

  • the only reason Chow Yun fat lived in the end of hard boiled is cuz all the crew and alot of other people asked woo not to kill this character(just a random woo fact)

  • john woo's the second most badass man. Max Payne is first, third is chuck norris. Chuck norris is third in the reasons that he hasnt been in action in long time... :(

  • Are there doves in literally everyone of his films? so far i've noticed it in Faceoff and Hard Target.

  • No way that dude survives that many shot shellls to the chest even if he IS wearing armor.

  • Hong Kong: Home of the God Shotgun.

  • Kick-ass had some features of woo's movies. Over the top violence. Lots and lots of enemies.

  • its like a video game

  • where can i see this movie online or where can i buy it?

  • Operatic miracle. You need 3 tissues (Sydney's death, Jeff and Jennie's last scene and Li's crying) because of Woo in a grandiouse action sequence. Bullets are emotional reactions against friendship and remorse-destroyers. And the Messiah from 4:15 rocks as well as the hit on the shoulder does. Number 1. movie.

  • its funny how chow was like O YEAH lets have some fun when the cop was shooting at the them in the beginning of the video

  • awesome movie! only thing I didn't like was the fact that everyone has a magical number of bullets in their magazines :)

  • This, Hard Boiled, A Better Tomorrow and Bullet In The Head...all gun crazy action flicks! Good shit. Proper balls out gunfest!

  • no doubt about whos gonna be left standing

  • @druha10304 Actually Chow Yun Fat dies gets his eyes shot out and his girlfriend does not get the cornea transplant, the irony. In fact, Chow is well known to be the hero that does not make it out of a lot of John Woo movies. Dies in A Better Tommorrow also.

  • @BF1 I never saw the third one. I know that the second one, Chow Yun Fat plays the twin brother of the character in the first. Did you see the third installment?

  • @BF1 Also I think Hard Boiled is the only movie in Woo's films that the Hero makes it out. I could be wrong. Unless you count Better Tomorrow 2. Does he die in the third one?

  • My favorite part is at 2:18 when he shoots the guy and falls and gets another hail of gun fire. Those people use way too many bullets....

  • This is so awesome! It would have been a perfect masterpiece if there was more blood.

  • @mitrooper Yeah, but unlike Hollywood, John Woo has the uniqueness of knowing how to use it without it working your nerves. You've got to give credit where it is due. He's the reason that we have things like The Matrix, Max Payne, etc.

  • The end of this film is still about the best gun battle in movie history. By the way, that's Tsui Hark as the assassin who bloes up the Virgin statue.

  • at 1:98 is just awesome...

The only time a real man smiles, is when his best friend joins the shoot out.

  • I love how there's henchmen on every conceivable surface, even places they probably could never get to.

  • out on Blu-Ray March 30th 2010

  • @somejackball Picked it up recently. Great movie. I just wish Hard boiled was also released on Blu Ray.

  • Such a shame that John Woo is doing historical dramas instead of Heroic Bloodshed films.

However, he is confirmed to be directing the "Rainbow Six" film adaption so maybe there's hope...

  • @Kersey475

Errrrr... Update folks, turns out that John Woo has dropped out of the "Rainbow Six" film project and Zack Snyder will direct instead.

  • chow yun fat looks like the guy from 2 and a Half Men

  • is this movie worth 2 buy?

  • oh yes sir indeed. One of the best in cinema.

  • John Woo, one of the few directors who can actually coreograph violence!

  • 0:16 My Uncle!!

  • absolute overkill on half those guys filled them up with 20 bullets when 2 would have done it haha i love movie guns

  • 3:12

    Asian Ron Jeremy lol!

  • le film k je cherhé depui pertet

le meileur film de tt les temps

  • 5:46 ...that was crazy!!

  • The final battle in the movie Face/Off, also directed by John Woo, references this scene, since it took place in a church.

  • lol all have elegant outfits

  • I'm not too familiar with John woo's work. I've only seen hard boiled. What is with doves in his movies? Are they there for symbolic reasons?

  • @kzundiverus Yes. It's a trademark in his films.

  • Brilliant scene. Only John Woo can make a gunfight sequence this over the top and still make it work.

But I do wish someone would tell Chow and Danny that they don't have to waste an entire ammo clip on one guy (especially when there are eighty more guys behind him)! lol

  • @gaglir I completely agree! Chow is never satisfied a clean, one shot kill, he needs to make it as messy and wasteful as possible. It's still awesome, though, so who cares?

  • 5:24 multiple nut shots

  • Ron Jeremy at 3:11

  • One of the greatest shoot-outs ever filmed! John Woo's masterpiece. He will never be able to top this film.

  • Look at how these guys keep coming out of nowhere, it's like a video game!

  • so true, so true

  • Now that you mention it... Why isn't there The Killer Arcade Shooter game? That would be awesome.

I happen to have John Woo DVD box that includes all of his classic hk movies. All of them are pure gold

  • Yeah, and this could be the final boss battle!

  • All we need is the score. *inserts 1UP score, 2UP score, and High Score, much like the AVGN's top 10 shoot 'em up movies*

  • You have "Stranglehold" for all platforms. Is a sequel to the "Hard-Boiled" movie...Brutal!

  • @Ebb1993returns That and hard boiled...two awsome movies.

  • @Ebb1993returns That's what it's actually like in china

  • in Germany all classic John Woo movies are on the index...

  • it was all cool and serious until 6:08... i had to laugh... lols...

  • too bad no pigeons fly by...

  • PWNED :D

  • THE KILLER FTW BEST MOVIE

  • who did he shoot at the begining

  • his old friend. He was shot by the bad guys, but he didn't want to get killed by them. So Ah-Jang did a favor and killed him

  • LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

    epicness x infinity!

  • these subtitles are so much better than the ones on my copy

  • mr. & mrs Chow!

lol. so old school. love it

  • luv it

  • show the ending

  • why didnt you show what happend at the end

  • who's dat who died at first
