  • 4:27, that is me - 3rd from the right. I had the great privilege and honor to perform the volleys at this funeral along with the rest of the wonderful service men & women there that day. It is definitely a day I will never forget. It is wonderful that this can be seen like this. I had it on VHS, but the tape didn't make it.

  • I'm about as liberal as you can get. I cried.

  • Boy Ted Koppel likes the sound of his own voice, talking through honors

  • i think its amazing all those 21 shots missed people ! thats a miracle. If I was able to, I would have voted to have President Nixon and Reagan as joint Presidents for life. The courage, strength, tenacity, leadership and righteousness this man possessed cannot and never will be repeated ! watch my ardent pro nixon videos

  • My 87 years old Grandmother travelled to San Clemente to attend President Nixon's funeral. She was very disappointed to have been turned away as uninvited. She returned the next day as one of the mourners that filed by his grave.

Just out of high school in the first election cycle after the adoption of The 26th Amendment, President Nixon was the first President that I ever voted for. I have never regretted it.

  • If you read "Kennedy and Nixon" by Chris Mathews, you'll see what a good and decent man Richard Nixon was. The greatest foreign policy expert in the history of the United States. He just wanted to do so much for all of us, he unfortunately didn't care enough about how to do it.

  • What if somebody flinch if the guns go off??

  • It's fitting that the camera focuses on Agnew at 3:58 while Billy Graham says, "Forgive us our trespasses."

  • The best president our nation has ever known, Richard M. Nixon. His time will come.

  • The last president to ever suggest universal healthcare. Good man who just got caught doing what all politicians do. But, a good man and he worked hard for Americans.

  • I agree He was a good man who loved his country! What do we have now? Rest in Peace My President & God Bless! He brought me back also from Viet Nam.

  • Nixon was a good man. He was humbled by evil men. I met him. He was a gentleman. May he rest in peace. It's too bad they have that criminal (Bill Clinton)'s ugly face on this video. The Clintons are murdering, lying, thieves and if anybody should have been impeached it was Bill Clinton.

  • @morekare You have the balls to denigrate the Clintons after Tricky Dick Nixon almost tore up the Constitution. He should have been impeached for the lying trickster he was. One of the most dysfunctional lying men to disgrace the Presidency.

  • He got US out of Vietnam, Me too, and thankfully. Nixon denied secret service after he left office, ashamed of his presidency. No other President did that.

  • It sounds like Billi Graham presiding.

  • @samythom It is Billy Graham

  • You stupid hippie jackasses telling him to burn in hell should be thanking him, he ended the draft. If it wasn't for him, I guarantee you idiots would be doing anything you could to get out of going to Iraq right now.

  • @nubbie1944 so true, but, would we be in iraq right now if we had a draft? im kind of curious.

  • I'm pretty sure we would be, just with incompetent draftees, and the situation would be a lot worse.

  • yeah it would be a huge fuckup

  • Its funny how they preach peace and harmony for so long and then promote hate for a person at the same time. Hypocrtical basterds.

  • i quote

"born into nixon i was raised in hell,"

go ahead gimme a thumbs down

  • WOW! a very touching scene at 7:43 when that army dude, hugging the flag to his chest, tenderly holing the flag close to his heart. iwatched this when i was 12. it brought tears to my eyes then, it tears me up now

  • If you are going to insult somebody without even addressing why you dislike him, you could at least spell his name correctly, KingMachinima.

  • no frickin' kidding

  • @KingMachinima show some respect man jesus h christ if u don't like a certain person don't watch the vid

  • @KingMachinima Your mom fucked our country by giving birth to you, you little shit.

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH tell ya the truth i forgot what i said i was drunk or high or somthing.

  • lot of democrats there...

  • he was my President that I served under, Bless his heart he took care of me at my end of my service let that be known thank you

  • aww who is that at around 2:20?

  • I would imagine it's probably a grandchild...of which of his children, I'm not sure.

  • lol the car alarms

  • I like all the car alarms going off during the 21 gun salute.

  • great president! he did make the watergate mistake but he was a great president who really cared for this country

  • I agree. His only weakness is that he allowed his own insecurities to take control of his reasoning, and ultimately self-destructed. He was going to win without Watergate

  • yes! good wording! I was looking for a good description

  • Thank you. I think it sad that the only thing the media can find to recall in reference to Nixon was Watergate. Although a Democrat, I actually liked Nixon, and am sorry that he apparently could never recover from this one indescretion. I haven't seen a Republican President since that could really match him. Had Watergate not occurred I can't help but think that others would have refered deference to Nixon rather than Reagan.

  • @jrm523 The other videos made it feel like he was still alive

  • lol at the car alarms

  • the first us president whom I remember

  • huhuhuhuhuhu!

  • Here's something to think about. By foregoing the honor of a state funeral in Washington, which he deserved, Nixon instead chose to have the funeral at his library where he was born. BY doing this, he forced the political elite to finally come to him instead of the other way around. And presiding over his funeral was the sitting president(Clinton) who's wife had worked for the committee that voted to impeach him.

Nixon was a crafty man to the end.

  • Very true.

  • @airdriver

Even though he made the mistake of Watergate, he was certainly one of our most effective presidents... and as you said, EXTREMELY intelligent/crafty. :-)

  • Hey thanks for sharing! it was great seeing myself perform again. Those were good times.

  • Where were you performing?

  • Yes when you hear the Sailor calling out the Firing party commands. Thats me.
