This is what happens with arrows. Quick, send all of your arrows to me to support the hungry mantis shrimp foundation. They'll be taken care of in a swift manner.
i actually have 2 jawfish in my fishtank- their cute and they always poke their heads out. I never want to get anything that might eat them, so the tank is basically inhabited with clownfish, damsels and shrimp
It most likely was not the arrow crab that killed your fish. Arrow crabs are not predators. They are strictly scavangers. The jawfish must have been dying due to some other reason and the arrow crab was just cleaning up. Arrow crabs certainly will not hunt and kill healthy fish.
Umm. Arrow crabs (Stenorhynchus seticornis) are perfectly capable of killing fish. To quote Bob Fenner's description from his website wetwebmedia: " Not to be trusted with small to medium fish tank-mates (may spear with rostrum, otherwise consume). Safe with hardy native corals and anemones, larger fishes..."
Umm. I have kept Arrow Crabs and jawfish together with never a problem. Jawfish are NOT slow moving fish, and the arrow crab would have a VERY hard time catching it. It's also clear that the fish was not killed by the arrow crab, since it was already dead without being torn to shreds (it would have still been moving if that much was intact.) Although pearly jawfish tend to be fairly hardy, they do no ship well and your water quality probably shocked it to death.
Uh, this is a good song!

I have never had a arrow crab touch anything. Your tank looks pretty weak/small and you have a tang in it! I bet its just poor conditions.

lmfao he called the Arrow crab a shrimp.
For the record, arrow crabs can kill shrimp and small fish no problem. Even though they are slow looking creatures they are actually very quick.
Horrible BG music by the way.

Nope, the arrow crab is more than capable of hunting and killing small fish hence the reason why they aren't to be housed with small fish.
