Nice Hook!! We just did this play at our school but here's something different...our Hook was played by a girl :)

She is tall big boned and has husky voice and if you were to see in costume and hear her play Captian Hook you could believe she was he.

You play the character well, however you have absolutely butchered JM Barrie's amazing script! Very painful to watch because of this. For a viewer who hasn't read the script, your performance would appear very good. But I know the script inside and out, and your dissecting of the script totally ruins the performance for me.

If you have the oppertunity to read, develop at least two strong readings. Depending on the directors artistic preference, Hook can be taken a myriad of ways from subtle and intimidating to exhuberant. It is also important to pivot off of Smee, to find that balance. If Smee is all over the place energywise, it becomes more effective to take the Hook character darker, slower, and cynical to create an almost vaudvillian chemistry.
