I also have d5000.. for taking videos you should have the auto exposure button set to lock, you go into the settings to do this.

that way it wont keep adjusting and will look much better!

Just some advice..next time you take some video..press AE lock before you do. it will stop the light flickering aka exposure change. Good Luck.

@TalehTAT The deformation is the camera's sensor. It scans from top to bottom, so if something moves too fast, it becomes distorted. The Canon 5D Mark II would be the best choice for this sort of thing, because the sensor detects everything at once, rather than from top to bottom.

Well when make a sharp movement to the side and the picture gets deformed..that's called "rolling shutter" or the jelly effect. It's typical in slrs that have video because of the sensor..it also is a problem in many HD cameras. My advice..use a tripod and don't make any sudden movements.
