@pollotierrez Not sure if you knew this the track first appeared on Castlevania 3 where it's played at the start, they always seem to shove their classic tracks in the last levels of later games.
Why must every Castlevania video collapse into a twilight/Castlevania Argument. Seriously. I Don't jump onto twilight vids and scream CASTLEVANIA! Why do they think they need to do that here??!!
SOTN just has exactly the same effect as Final Fantasy 7 does. It introduced the series to a much wider (and younger) audience, and the nostalgia value makes them fail to consider that it might not actually be the best thing ever created. In fact, I wouldn't say SOTN is even the best metroidvania, and comparing it to the originals is silly, because there are very few similarities between them outside of setting.
However, these people are the majority, so SOTN will still be considered the best.
@PaladinX500 I beg to differ my friend, most of my friends who share an interest for Castlevania don't consider SoTN the best piece of bread Metroidvania has, although sure, it was a more easy concept for the younger audiences the real beast was to pick up the controller on an SNES and NES to get our asses handed to us by the game until we were man enough to beat it. In theory, the Castlevania new remakes are trying to revive old concepts, which is good for us old fanboys. We love the challenge.
@Iamthemole1986 I know. I was saying it in response to the guy that said "What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse", which was the joke from Castlevania II
@joc95 Me: Die shitty games! U don't belong in this would! Fanboy game maker: It was not my fault there's this many games, I made them 4 U humans who wanted enterainment. Me: Entertainment? Loved how the last levels Castlevania IV had the music from the first levels of the previous three games in the series; Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears & The Beginning.
Some of my fondest memories from my youth are of playing Super Castlevania IV and being absolutely blown away by the magnificent soundtrack! Simply a masterpiece!
As a coder at a young age I remember being very impressed with all the details put into the game. Everything from the the big bosses to coins splashing about when you walk through the treasury was so awesome!
This game owns...this remake of the first stage in Castlevania 3 is awesome, and I personally think this is the best Castlevania Konami's ever made, hands down.
Simon Belmont is the chuck norris of gaming. He ressurected Dracula just so that he could kill him again XD he is capable of killing any vampire with the exception of Alucard from Hellsing and Flandre Scarlet from Touhou lol
This is the only part of the game that I would call hard, and the music matches it perfectly.
Climbing up a tower whilst being chased by an instant-death spike wheel, stairs falling behind you, and then a series of platforms to a place up high that I didn't see for some time (as I got stuck here and had to return the game).
Only to fight Slogra and The Leviathan (Gaibon) high above the clouds, followed by a battle with Death in a dinner theatre with a slow, haunting music contrast.
Perhaps you're right, because SOTN isn't as hard as SC4, that's for sure, but SOTN has a whole new atractive things that no Castlevania had ever shown.
This Castlevania 4 is simplier but so much good on every aspect of the game, from the moves(free chains, moonwalking..) until the awesome music.. It's not only One of THE games of my childhood but One of the GREATEST GAME I played so far(I currently have a Ps3, PC, Wii, but cant feel the same when I am playing that in the old age times..)
@Barrylocke if you mean the original pc version rondo of blood then ya i just played it recently and it is also awsome. both in visual appeal and in music, i would honestly rank that super castlevania 4 and sotn as among the best 3 castlevania games ever created.
@pendragon135790 Actually, not that I'm one to argue, IV was great and always will be. But Symphony of the Night IS the SEXY BEAST. Its ginormous world that allowed for non-linear gameplay where you progressed through tons beautifully designed areas, the removal of awkward control, the soundtrack that trumps all other Castlevanias PERIOD, an rpg-like inventory system. This game was an evolution the series needed.
@ilv244 But there was a little... LITTLE thing... No one had a problem with the linear style of the classic Castlevania Series. Those where epic journeys from outside to the Castle keep itself, and then became boring trips from the Castle... to the Castle keep.
@YataKazooie I have to agree (partialy, SotN my favorite of the series) w/ pendragon, but it may be like the fans wanting classic Sonic's design back it's not gonna happen.
i mean comon perfect music first of all that went with the game perfectly, then the graphics and backrounds, have so much amazing detail its well amazing, the game control enemies and bosses are nothing short of fantastic, you can whip in 8 directions and in some cases use it to grapple on to hooks and stuff, no to levels are the same, theres levels in swamps, graveyards, crypts, caverns, the countryside, the castle you name it.
castlevania sotn was awsome, but castlevaina 4 was better.
@oxe161 The only better way to end a game is to capitalize the first letter in each sentence, capitalize the first letter in each word in a proper noun and spell "that's" and "you" correctly.
"Super Castlevania IV, I'm proud of you, and I'm gonna let y'all finish, but Symphony of the Night was one of the greatest Castlevania games of all time" lol, i didn't play this game, though. wish i did, but sotn is my only one.
@randomman5 It is better to get it on the Super Nintendo and soon rather than later. If you don't like this game you can't call yourself a human being.
Yes, I've been noticing that. All the bass parts have been thought out carefully. The drums (double bass) are especially showcased here too- riffs only really metal people of the time used!
Well, obviously this song was originally in Castlevania 3, and they also pulled "Vampire Killer" from the first one and a song from Simon's Quest and redid them all in SNES glory. These songs are great, but the new songs on this game did more for me as they were original tracks, whereas I'd already heard these other ones. Of course everybody loves the main theme, but one of my favorites is the underwater city with all the mermen spitting at you
Damn it, STOP FOLLOWING ME,YOU STUPID BUZZSAW

(cont.) I mean, it's such an awesome jazzy track, when the hell did you ever hear a jazz track in a video game? It just goes so well with the level!

Agreed McGuinty and "Bloody Tears" is the song they pulled from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.
