Nothing too special visually, but the pairing with the song was enough to make a genuine emotional tie and strike a few cords.

Honestly, Zuko was easier to tolerate in the third book when he stopped being basic emo-kid and fangirl fodder. Third season he got some personality and was a very enjoyable character. Before then...mostly just a waste of screentime.

There's all a Zuko inside of us - a dark, and light side of us. He's so amazingly misundestood that we can't help but try to reach out to him - even though he is a cartoon character. Probably only Harry Potter has ever been more intriguing and has drawn me in more before.

Zuko is a bastard. I sympathized with him up till the end of book 2. He sells out his uncle, the sole person who truly loves him. And for what, honor?, which he FINALLY discovers isn't what he wanted. On top of that is he did it for Azula who tried to MURDER HIM and enjoyed watching him get his faced charred. And not to undermine his relationship with Mei, but its clearly a psychological escape for Zuko.

Lets all give a round of applause to the antagonizing protagonist...

His mind is full of doubt, he's conflicted, and worst of all, the only one he truely could confide in, that being his Uncle Iroh, has turned his back on him.
