  • d'archh, thats so annoying, i keep fooling around with drill bits and chisels and files and stuff, and create sloppy tenons and mortises, and he creates a machine, wich creates perfect ones, and really really perfect, and then he says ''meh, close enough''

  • @eried he uses normal wood glue (i think)

  • Hi Matthias, which glue do you use?

  • bob builder! :D

  • thats tight,,,

  • you gotta love this man your flipping smart dude :D

  • awesome craftsmanship !

  • Matthias,

Next project: mirror stand with wooden gearbox for convenient tilting?

Or something even more elaborated nobody ever thought of?

  • niesamowity gość ...

  • great job

  • Just a suggestion: post a film abot projects (if any!) that DIDN'T work ... just to boost the self confidence of the rest of us ;-)

  • My next video will be about a project that I abandoned, but you will have to wait until I have the video and article all ready.

  • This copy/paste machine is just awesome. Thank you for sharing.

  • You never cease to amaze me!

  • Why couldn´t you cut off the part on the legs on the talbesaw??? Doesn´t make really sence!!

  • Matthias gets da honies by building them next-level wooden artifacts.

  • I love your home made tools

  • Were the wooden pads or feet merely glued in place, without even a brad or two to improve the mechanical strength of the joint?

  • The glue is as strong as the wood, and a brad would only serve to scratch up to floor.

  • @Matthiaswandel How could a brad or pin scratch the floor if it had been driven below the surface of the wood, using a nail punch if necessary?

  • you deserve a nobel prize :D

  • I am in awe, good sir.

  • Problem > Reaction > Solution - A master engineer/craftsman you are!

  • well done as always

  • Great video production. Great use of a ScreenCam plus Sketchup to show the components. Personally, I think Sketchup is underused by engineers and craftsmen.

  • How did you determine how wide the base needed to be for stability?

  • ...Made of wood.

  • The camera mounted to the sled is a nice shot. Created a solution instead of a problem, nice work.

  • How much money do you spend on wood a month?

  • >Putting pads on the bottom to stop it from rocking if the floor is uneven.

    GREAT IDEAS'. GREAT IDEAS' EVERYWHERE.

  • I heard the glue bubble out at 3:10 a testament to the accuracy

but maybe if you made a small hole in the bottom of the mortise for the air to escape it would have been easier to insert (and created less glue squeeze out)

  • i known you for 10 years and never knew you had a twin 8:55

  • you are the wood man, luv your vids keep em up :)

  • Made in basement

  • Are you a Wizard?

  • I think you should have made it bigger. It looks small with that mirror in place.

  • Best at world of woodcraft , and none of your videoes have gone below 95 like! DYUAM! Nice :P

  • finally,,, i see you using nails...

  • where?

  • @Matthiaswandel

7:30.. welll technically they are screws...

  • @Matthiaswandel

7:30.. well technically they are screws...

  • @Matthiaswandel Sir, you are a damn genius, congratulations !! You can build you own things without buy them.

  • @vincentleest he uses screws

  • awesome! build something useful with tools you made by yourself :]

  • TAADAAAA!!!

  • Did she like it? :D

  • what kind of life do you get out of that router bit before you need to sharpen or replace?

  • Mr. You are just pure awesomeness.

  • Excellent skills if you find a peaceful settlement to live in after America's societal collapse.

  • oh u want me to mount this mirror... one second while i invent a stand...

  • when are you making a blender or free toys for us

ps can i buy a raindrear from a previus video :P

  • nice

  • So Matthias, what's it feel like to be the God of woodcraft?

  • SCREWS?! Just kidding, excellent job as always! Very informative and easy to follow.

  • i love watching you work!

  • hi geppeto nice to meet you

  • Do you make your own wood glue? why is it always in a little bowl

  • Fancy is not a strong enough adjective for your jigs. Awesome idea. :]

  • Do you do much with finishes? I noticed you had your new T&M rig finely sanded and clear coated. Do you work with stains and oils?

  • lol it looks a little goofy tho don't you think? I mean it wasn't that fancy of a mirror that went on it anyways but it just looked kinda weird

  • "I couldn't find studs" Ya right, you were just thinking "Hang it? How am I supposed to use my homemade pantorouter and general wood kungfu?"

  • @ttk1opc Damn right! Any techno-god would want to do such things. :D

  • it just occurred to me that mathias looks like michael bolton from office space.

  • Bit of a tense moment at 8:39, eh?
