As someone who dances Argentine Tango, I can confirm that this is not good tango. Well, at least Harry's isn't. She also makes a mistake during her steps. I think Strictly should just leave tango alone - they always mess it up!

But yes, it would have been nice to see him do the Paso again.

... I like Jason but he's just theatrical, in his AT he didn't move at all it was just his partner dancing around him, seriously he did like one or two ganchos and that was it. Harry is rigid because he like to be technical, and I don't blame him, he's still the best for me and he has improved A LOT, he's repeating his AT this week, and I know he'll do it AWESOME and we will see how it's actually done to win a 40 rather than be given one just because.

I liked Jason's AT but this is still my favourite. For me the difference is that Jason's was sexy like Kristina, Harry's was sensual like Aliona, and my preference is always for the sensual routine.

I love Harry but I have to agree with phoebe grove, jason's AT was just something else. It's not the steps, Harry did more. It was the intensity that sent goosebumps. Harry still needs to work on performance IMO

This was so much technically better than Jasons. Jason's stood out because it was really theatrical and extremely over-dramatic with very powerful music. But the intensity and senuality of the argentine tango should have subtlties and be more than just a meledrama.

@LittlePartyGirl98 Harry's WAS my favourite until Jason's Argentine Tango. I never understood what Len meant about Harry's performance until I saw Jason. Jason's intensity was far more than Harry's. I come back to Harry's & realised that it was indeed "too clinical" like robotic, like was DOING the dance but he wasn't FEELING the dance. He wasn't selling it. Harry did everything correct, but he didn't sell it. I say this as a Harry fan, but Jason's AT is THE BEST I've seen this season.

To be honest, I can see where Len is coming from... It did seem at points like Harry was just making the moves and not acting it out. I'm no dancer, so I don't know about the technical side of it, but I know that it is difficult to get both the balance of technique and acting the dance as well.

Harry's was so much better than Anita's. We also have to remember that the only pro dancers who specialise in the Argentine Tango is Vincent and Flavia, all the other pro's have to learn how to do it as well so i think Aliona did an amazing job. Its such a complicated but stunning style of dance.

Len Goodman is a pompous twit who is so full of himself it is unreal, he reacted totally in line with past weeks in that he does not mark Aliona fairly.

It is time to get rid of him and replace him with any of the ex dancers that have graced the show.

The sooner he goes the better piss off to the American show and stay there.

Impressively flashy perhaps, but IT'S NOT ARGENTINE TANGO! And it's not just a matter of taste. Argentine tango is all about the connection between the partners. Every time Aliona does those flashy leg-flicks (boleos, which should be momentum-driven, not forced), or looks over her shoulder at her foot, she destroys that connection. Harry did the best he could with what he was given, but has potential for more. How sad that he isn't with a partner who understands the soul of this amazing dance.

Go to Argentine tango classes with your woman since you seem to like the dance, and you will understand straight away what I meant in my comment. @264205 I did see it, and I think it's the only time I haven't agreed with her. Craig is a VERY harsh critic, and he gave it a 9. He would be the first judge to say if the Argentine tango lacked passion. Len giving Harry an 8 and then giving Anita a 9 was completely off. Anita's dance was good, but her technique wasn't any more accomplished than Harry's; and her dance wasn't any more 'smoldering' than his either, so marking her higher than him wasn't fair.

BUT, there is no way Len could give a 9 to Anita and an 8 to Harry! I wonder whether it has something to do with Aliona's style of teaching. Last year Matt (I really liked him) also had that "zombie" mode sometimes..

Except Aliona just look at her feet or away when she was doing her flashy moves on her own and Anita was really follwing the lead of her partner. And that's what the Tango is about. The best Tango dancers are not the one doing flashy stuff but the one that are in harmony with their partner. On this regards Anita did a lot better than Aliona. Harry did well but I just think that the problem was Aliona. Furthermore you don't do ganchos and boleos like she did.

Argentine Tango is not one of the normal competitive ballroom dances so I guess SCD professional dancers don't get to do it that much. And as far as I understand, the philosophy of tango is so different from competitive ballroom dancing. So I guess we can't be too hard on her. But I totally understand your comment about her boleos :) Made me cringe..

Len lost his credibility and the public illustrated their contempt when they didn’t vote for Anita . I don’t know about jet lag, but if he really thought Anita’s tango was better he must be potty and should go back to America. When he swore at Craig he showed his true colours. This was a vendetta and he should be removed as head judge, after all Craig did a great job at that last week. Harry & Aliona you made my Saturday keep up the good work!

agree, this was the best dance of the series so far. It had everything, content, INTENSITY - Len what were you watching????? Everything came together, the choreography was brilliant, both Harry and Aliona looked stunning. I couldnt see anything technically wrong at all, and Harry's control throughout the dance was stunning.
