I think when he braked, his weight was forward too much and the bike stepped to the left. He unfortunately hit the airbag at the wrong angle and hit the actual fence. There is a video showing him hit the side of the air fence.

Suzuka was unsafe thats sure, organisation dont show red flag (there is someone who cant move on track so this is red flag), marshall move Kato who is injured at neck during the race continu (that is totaly against race security rules) and Kato go really fast on a track he know well...ok but WHY HONDA Still say that its not the FAULT of the BIKE ?! of course it is (its a wild bike especialy for japan) Honda should assume their act ! (them too)

definitely agree, kato was dani pedrosa with better throttle control. He wasn't that good in the rain, but I'm sure he would have adjusted. Plus HRC would have pulled out all the stops for their 'golden boy'! he would have been Rossi's most serious rival & perhaps a future MotoGP champion. RIP D. Kato #74

it`s been 4 years already,since Daijiro`s tragic death...i realy thought i overcame my pain and sadness,that everything was getting ok with time...but now...i know,that`s not true...

i found out this,when i heard him speaking in the video....when i heard his voice,tears roled down my face again....and i just cried myself to sleep,thinking about Daijiro`s sweetness,and holding his autographed photo,against my sad and empty heart...Daijiro...my heart belongs to u!
